At first I was disappointed but after watching his latest movies I have come to grips with him as CC.

Yes the 80′s CC was mysterious but really when it comes down to it I wanna see CC with the hoody and later with the battle armor helmet.

The rumor was he is a doctor and friends with Duke so… as long as the movie kicks ass thats all I can let the origin slide. You can’t get everything right.

I actually do not mind them doing an origin of CC. Anything is better than the Cobra-la origin. Plus, I think Marvel comics had his origin as a used cars salesman.

JGL will do CC justice, I think. He’s got some great acting presence and an acting persona that should benefit the role. I have to agree with DarthMuppet that in a live action film, it’s probably going to be a necessary tie-in to have the back story of where/what/why Cobra comes into existence, similar to the TF’s part where Optimus shows the kids what happened to Cybertron and why they ended up on Earth. It’s a necessary evil, if you will.

All I’m gonna’ say is(and I have a suspicion that John might agree) that what works for a cartoon(villains who have no background and who are evil because they’re supposed to be) doesn’t necessarily work for a live action movie.

Have a little faith Doug… With Hama on board, I’m sure they’ll be doing the characters justice. Besides, with Eccleston(look no farther than series one of Doctor Who if you wanna’ see how awesome this guy can really be) and Gordon-Levitt heading up COBRA, I’m willing to give ‘em the benefit of the doubt.

Im glade CC will be in this movie now. That was one of my main complaints was when they were talking about Destro but no news on CC. I thought how can you have Cobra without CC? But Im happy that he will be in the movie. Now the bad news is i heard CC background would be expland in the movie which is bad idea. I heard he would be an CIA agent that turns traitor and thats where Duke knows him from. Im all for what Doug said about the greatness of these villains comes from us knowing little about them. In a way its a double edge sword cause we like to know how they came to be but when we do find out it turns out to be dissappointing. However as for Darth Vader, I actually like him more now than I did when I was young. We knew who he was but he just didnt turn out the same way as we invisioned him in our head. Too bad this GI Joe film is gonna be campy and dissapointing, need i remind you this movie is being directed by the guy that did Mummy 2 and Vanhesing. Be worried and lower your expectations.

I don’t really worry about the story so much on this. What is important for me is that a great actor is going to be in a movie. I’m really curious to see what Gordon-Levitt can bring to the role.

I’ve been a huge Gordon-Levitt fan and in my opinion hes one of the best actors out there. I have no doubt he’ll do a good job acting wise but I dont know how the movie will fare in general.
