We have obtained the poster and plot synopsis for Igor today, thanks to the good people over at cinematical:

Igor

Cinematical has just received this creepy (but oddly adorable) exclusive teaser poster for Igor (click on the image to enlarge), an animated film coming to us via The Weinstein Co. this September. Igor features the voice talent of John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Eddie Izzard, Jennifer Coolidge, Molly Shannon, Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall … it gets better … and James Lipton — playing himself! Igor is the story of a mad scientist’s hunchbacked lab assistant whose greatest dream is to win the coveted first place award at the annual Evil Science Fair.

Of the above list of talent, I am most excited about Arsenio Hall. This man doesn’t get the work he deserves; he’s hilarious and ran a damn good talk show when I was growing up. I was a devoted watcher of his program and have always thought it a shame that he was under utilized after the show was canned. His guest appearances on the Chappelle Show were awesome and with luck, he will get another sitcom, or film of note. This movie isn’t going to be the one – but it’s nice to see his name.

Good point on Arsenio. It’s something I think of every time I watch Coming to America. He was so good (and versatile) in that film, you’d think he could be put to good use more often. But then I forget about him.

John Cusack as Igor? How perfect is that.
The master of self-depreciation and dry wit playing the guy that’s always been second fiddle to Frankenstein is a genius casting.
And I have to imgaine Steve Buscemi is playing Frankenstein. That’s awesome too.

  3. The story seems pretty weak but I love the voice over actors.
