Hellraiser Directors Bail

PinheadIt looks like things are going to hell with the new Hellraise remake. We learn today that the directors have walked from the project. We get the following news from our friends at moviesonline:

According to HorrorMovies.ca the directors of the HellRaiser remake have quit. Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury who were tapped to direct have walked. The film which is being produced by Barker is getting a mixed response from horror fans.

I hate most remakes and love the original Hellraiser, so I was not thrilled when I discovered that it was going to be remade. I felt a bit better about the situation when I heard Clive Barker was producing, but now that the directors have bailed – my concern has raised anew.

People bailing on a project is seldom good news. I am not certain why these guys have jumped ship, but hopefully news will come out in the next few days illuminating their decision. With luck, a director of skill and vision will come to the rescue and clean up this mess. This is concerning and troubling news, and I am quite skeptical.

    Apparently everyone hated the script.
One hopes that this project will be put on hold for good.
