Harland Williams Set To Direct Wing Man

Harland5It looks like comedy master Harland Williams will be putting his skills to use as a director for the upcoming film Wing Man. We get word of this story thanks to our friends at moviehole:

Serial support actor Harland Williams (“Sorority Boys”, “Bachelor Party 2”) will make the transition from acting to directing with “Wing Man”, a new $10 million dollar comedy from Producers Justin L. Levine and HowieCo, we were informed today. The production shingle behind the flick, Stardust, had just worked with Williams on the comics’ comedy special ‘Wild Child’ in Toronto. “Wing Man” shoots Summer 2008 in Toronto.

Harland is hilarious. He has been in some of the funniest movie scenes that I have had the pleasure of viewing. He was outstanding in Half Baked. When he is singing in the shower, into his bar of soap – I almost puked I was laughing so hard. The man has the ability to give the most ridiculous looks at the best moment possible and it makes for outstanding comedic results.

It will be neat to see what he brings to the table as a director. To be honest, I was a little surprised at this news piece. I had no idea that he had aspirations of directing, but this makes for a nice surprise, and I wonder if this will be the first of many Harland directed comedies.

With production set to shoot in Toronto I will see if there is anything we can do to get on set and take some pics.

International friends – what is your favorite Harland moment in film?
