SXSW Report #2 – Opening Night Party

Well, it’s still the first night here. Doug is totally passed out from pure exhaustion, and I should be too… but I managed to pull together enough energy to hit the SXSW Film Festival Opening Night Party! The event was held at the Buffalo Billiards club in downtown Austin and it was one hell of a good time. I met some new and wonderful people… even scored a couple of phone numbers :P

But the best part of the evening was just hanging out with the other web nerds. Talking movies, the online movie world and in general drinking far too much. Wheeeeee. Here are a couple of pictures from the evening:

Eric Davis, head cheese over at Cinematical. We email all the time, but this was our first chance to meet in person.

It was a wonderful time (Open bars always are), and it has set the pace for the rest of the festival. Lots of movies, lots of parties… and later this week we decided to all get together to have the first podcast with all of us movie web nerds together at the same time. Yes, history will be made! HA! Watch for that podcast later this week, it should be a lot of fun.

Well, I’ve had 2 hours of sleep in the last 48, so I must be getting myself to bed. Tons of movies to see tomorrow, and about 3 parties. We’ll keep you up to date the whole way through!
