Milla-Jovovoich-GetawayResident Eveil actress Milla Jovovich has joined the cast of the new thriller “A Perfect Getaway”. The folks over at Yahoo News give us this:

Milla Jovovich will play Steve Zahn’s wife in the newlywed thriller “A Perfect Getaway. “The project revolves around a pair of honeymooners in Hawaii who run into two homicidal hikers, played by Timothy Olyphant (HBO’s “Deadwood”) and Kiele Sanchez (ABC’s “Lost”). David Twohy (”The Chronicles of Riddick”) wrote and is directing the feature, which MGM is distributing. Production begins March 31 in Puerto Rico and Hawaii.

I have serious reservations about this one. First of all, the last time I saw Steve Zahn in something that resembled a thriller was in “Joyride” which I thought was just stupid as hell and I couldn’t buy Zahn in the film at all. Secondly, I’ve yet to see Jovovich do anything that looks like acting. Thirdly, MGM over the past couple of years have changed from the movie making business to the brain dead decision making business, and lastly, the last time I saw Timothy Olyphant he was bald in Hitman… and I don’t even want to talk about that.

Overall, this doesn’t register on my interest scale. I hope it works because I generally like Zahn and even the people at MGM… but at this point I see nothing to be excited about.

  1. She was okay in The Fifth Element and not much else. You need somebody to show their snatch, she’s your go-to girl. You need somebody to ACT? She ain’t the one.

(Type your comment here. Make sure you’ve read the commenting rules before doing so)I was in San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 2nd. We were visiting on a cruise ship. They were filming this movie right along the waterfront. We walked right in on the filming. We got to watch and see how things were done. My kids really got a kick out of it. I cant say how the movie will turn out but Im sure I will see it now. She was not filming that day so we missed her. I have seen her movies and I dont think she is the best actress but surely not the worst either.

The thing about Milla Jovovich is that nobody gets to see her at her best. Everyone sees the big sci-fi movies that require very little acting and don’t allow much room to show emotion. If you bothered to do some research on her, instead of judging the book by the cover you’d maybe pay some attention to her roles in independant movies. Take ‘The Claim’ for example, her performance in the movie was shortlisted as a possible nominee for the official nominees for the Oscars that year. Check out her movie with Samuel L Jackson, or her performance in .45 as an abused girlfriend.
