Meet Dave Trailer
Oh my dear sweet lord. I saw the “Meet Dave” trailer (Eddie Murphy’s new disaster in the making that is also directed by the guy who directed him in Norbit) before the Drillbit Taylor screening the other day. My jaw hit the floor at how stupid this thing looks. Anyway, the trailer is now online. See it for yourself. Do you see potential in this?

The scene with the cat sold me. It looks so silly that I’ll definitely see this one opening weekend.

Like Tina Turner going back to Ike after he says “Im sorry baby, I didnt mean it” Ill go running back to Eddie hoping that this time he really has changed and he is once again the guy I fell in love with in “Trading Places”. But deep down I know Im just gonna get whipped again.

I’m kinda speechless for once. That trailer looked too stupid to be an actual movie. I hope it’s just a joke or something cause it’s didn’t contain 1 iota of humor.

Meant to say it didn’t contain 1 iota of humor.

Eddie if your reading this - stop making movies just to make movies. Hear me out. The last time you were freakin awesome was the first Nutty Professor. I saw that movie and said to myself - damn dude you can kinda act. How many years ago was that? Who was on your board of advisers? Who was your agent? Run. Don’t walk and find those people again. For the love of god and your career - find those people. I don’t care if you don’t talk to them anymore or whatever falling out you had with them. Find them. Work out a plan with them. Beg them and I mean beg them to help make you awesome again.

So this is coming out at about the same time as Dark Knight. I suppose it might make some money from people who can’t get into ’sold out’ Batman screenings.
Were I in that situation however, I would much rather prostitute myself in unspeakable ways to get a TDK ticket than see this film. And i think of myself as a classy person:)

I’m not sure about this one. It’s a great concept, but it can be better utilized by the likes of Mike Myers or even Jim Carrey, and directed by someone far more capable than the director of Norbit.
Eddie Murphy might as well just sell his idea to talent who will make the first movie good enough to spawn a franchise so that it can make TONS more money than just one craptacular movie.

A new low for Eddie Murphy. It’s sad, really.

Wow that looked god awful. I feel like that cat he kicked. I’ve boycotted Eddie Murphy movies ever since he was a crybaby at the Oscars.

I can’t help it, I kept laughing.
Its like making a movie just for the pure slapstick comedy.

I can’t remember when I last saw an Eddie Murphy film. Either his manager got something on him or he’s saving up for goooood retirement.

Go watch “Trading Places” and then watch this trailer. Not only is it depressing, it makes me down right pissed that a guy with the talent of Murphy continues to make garbage like this for a buck.

And Elizabeth Banks should really be ashamed of herself.

Oh god, I actually laughed…the parts focusing on the characters inside his head were embarrassing though.

This would probably be really funny if I was 8 years old or high on pot, or both. To be honest, I actually laughed out loud when watching the trailer, because it’s so incredibly bad. Hillarious!!

I think people will either be able to just enjoy this movie for what it is (a flick you watch if you’re bored and want a few laughs) or they’ll despise it for what it also is (a shitty movie).

I hate to say it but it looks pretty damned funny. The trailer had me laughing.
It might be silly nonsense, and I always wondered when Murphy was going to return to being genuinely funny. This reminds me of his funnier movies in the 80s.
Sure its not Beverly Hills, and its not Trading Places, but somehow this strikes a chord with me.

All I’ve got to say is: I don’t want to Meet Dave.

OH SWEET JESUS
I would rather get all my teeth drilled and replaced than watch that movie.
I would rather stick something sharp in my ear than watch that movie.
I would rather peel the skin off my face than watch that movie.
I would rather…..
Okay, we all get the point now.

It looks like it migh possibly contain some humor, something not seen from an Eddie Murphy movie (Shreks excluded) in years.
But then again, he is actually not playing 5+ characters, so at least that is a step in the right direction, regardless of how bad this movie is…

someone should put murphy out his misery. there was not one redeeming thing to that trailer at all.
The only bit close to being funny is the handshake where he trots out his twenty + year old impression of a white guy.
this is fucking unbelievable.
I wonder if he cries himself to sleep each night on his egyptian sheets??
please rodney tell us what 80’s eddie murphy film this reminds you of because for the most part his 80’s films were funny. even this trailer hurt to watch. garbage. pure garbage.
