Toystory3We have obtained the following plot synopsis for Toy Story 3 thanks to our friends at comingsoon:

In Pixar’s coming movie “Toy Story 3,” Woody the cowboy and his toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, leaves for college.

Well, it’s straightforward and to the point. This really allows them to create their own world inside the day-care centre, perhaps we will have a guinea pig classroom pet that will interact with the toys. I am certainly fine with the story location, and the means in which they get there makes sense. Mothers dispose of the things we love to make space.

My Father was a youngster in the golden age of comic books and collected stacks of them waist high. We are talking about the origins of all the Marvel characters and DC comics as well. After he had moved to go to school and start a life of his own; he returned one day to the home of his birth to collect his beloved comic books. When he asked his mother where she put them she replied that she had thrown them away, because she thought they were junk. This story terrified me as a child and continues on to this day.

These toys pick up the story in the land in which they were disposed and I think it will make for a fantastic story. I am thrilled that this picture will be in 3-D and certainly look forward to the the third installment of this Pixar series.

    I like it.. carries on the theme of the toys being replaced (like woody being replaced with buzz in the 2nd film). Easily my favourite animated films, cannot wait!! :)

    Whoa, massive head rush!

    I have watched the first 2 as a kid, and enjoyed them. As for the 3rd, I really like the plot.

    Instead of going for the “takes place right after the last movie” concept, we are actually going to see the toys dealing with the future of Andy moving on to college. I am officially considering Pixar THE best studio; these guys know how to do sequels!

    Btw, that was a really sad story Doug. :,(

    *Update* I just saw a promotional picture on Wikipedia for Toy Story 3, where the Buzz Lightyear toys are being recalled. I am starting to think they aren’t going to be pulling punches for this movie.

    Sorry, I think that picture was for one of the other plot ideas. Still, I think having that recall idea within the day care setting would be good.

    My father threw out not only my childhood toy when I was eight years old, by age eleven the majority of my comics collection was in the nearest landfill. The comics that were spared happened to be the ones I re-read the night before, and put them in a different spot in my room…I have since put those in plastic covers where they remain preserved to this day.

    Now on to Toy Story 3.

    This is a great idea. Update figures, recalls…day care! Now that’s what I call continuing a story, advancing characters, and having at the same time a somber mood but a new enviornment.

    I liked Disney’s pitch better, where Buzz (and all the other Buzz toys) gets re-called to Taiwan and the gang go off to save him.

    Still, Pixa can do no wrong in my book.

    I guess this was inevitable after the flash back sequences for Toy Story 2 hinted at a toy being left in the wayside as its owner grew up. Looks like Toy story will continue to tackle tough subjects in animation, and remind us that we always need our friends by our side!

    Hmmm - here are some notes from 2005.

    Toy Story 3 Based On : Toy Story
    Premise/Synopsis :rumoured to be about what would happen when Andy grows up and the toy’s end up in the best place for them, somehere they will be loved and played with - a pre school nursery.

    The storyline? Andy’s mother meets a man, who has a daughter. The girl has toys too, and her toys are forced to get along with Andy’s toys. “It might actually be out of that bedroom and into a foreign country, I will say that”, adds the scribe. He also gave us some insight on the storyline and that the Toys might end up going to a different country.
