I have a guilty pleasure my friends, and that is Oscar evening gowns. When a dress matches a person the right way they can look absolutely stunning. As the premier formal event of the year all the ladies enter the thunder-dome of pretty and try to take “delicious” to the next level. Here are my favorite 3 dresses of the night.

Throughout the night the cam kept panning over Summer Phoenix and I thought, god damn, that dress is outstanding on her. It is fairly plain, but the scooping cleavage is kick ass and she looks like a roman lust deity.

Katherine Heigl doesn’t really rock my junk so I was surprised when she totally blew me away with this amazing dress that screams classic Hollywood VA-VOOM. She looks like candy and the dress reminds me of Nicole Kidman’s red bow dress from a few years back.

Although the dress is my least favorite of the three, there is no denying that Jenny Garner wears it to perfection. She also had the best accessories of the evening (her stylist is a god damn genius). The dress, metal bracers and ornate mystical necklace combine to form the Voltron of outfits. I would say that Garner gets the gold when it comes to the Oscar costume of 2008.
International friends, what outfits were your favorites?

Jennyfer is Gorgeous, but that dress looks like she was wraped in black tape. See the cleavage in the photo? Ihate when they don’t let boobs breathe. The worst for me was Cameron Diaz, the color wasn’t right for her tone of skin and you could see some flappines around her upper torso pouring out of the dress. The best dress goes to Nicole Kidman, she looked amazing, so elegant.

I’ll admit having been a larger fan of the attire than the actual event, despite my dislike of the ramifications, but this year I have to go with any of the “traditional” ensembles. I guess I’m a fan of old Hollywood. Hiegl is close to my top list with a dress that, while complimenting her figure, isn’t too showy even if her waist does look like I could kick it and break her clean in two.

Summer Phoenix looks like Ricki Lake.
Lost your boner there, didn’t ya?
You’re welcome.

Casey and Summer do not look like a happy couple. And where was Ben Affleck during the evening?

Heigl looks like a cheap whore in expensive clothing.
Garner’s dress moved well onstage, but does not photograph well.
For my money, Cotillard was the best looking woman there. What a stunning dress. Other than her, there were no real standouts to me. Everyone looked about the same. Cotillard took a risk and it paid off in spades.

I liked Helen Mirren which made her look twenty years younger; I second Kathy Heigl, and number three for me was Camerob Diaz, even if her hair looked messy.
The worst:
Tilda Swinton, Anne Hathaway and Rosamund Pike

i also liked cameron diaz’s dress even if she should woremaybe just a little makeup and do her hair, i also loved penelope cruz’s dress, heidi klum’s and jessica alba’s purple gown. and also renee zellweger. nicole kidman and vanessa paradis looked kinda old in those dresses

Katherine’s overdone makeup took away from her look almost completely (she is a knockout in that dress!). A little too heavy on the rouge, me thinks. You can tell in the image above, but it was really apparent on TV. Did Tammy Fay Baker’s School of Cosmetology just graduate a new class, or what?

what a hell are you talking about Cameron Diaz,. It was the worst of all. All those chunks of wabbly meat poking out of the drees that was the same skin tone as her, it was horrible.

Oh, and I almost forgot about Hannah Montana. Her dress was beautiful AND age apporpriate. Sad when a fifteen year old blows away most Oscar red-carpet queens on her first fucking try.

People around the world are questioning Doug’s sexuality with his accurate criticisms of female wardrobe.
When the article read “top 3 oscar gowns” I half expected Serena to have written it.
Doug, you would make a great fashion diva host. Men would actually watch your show and still question your orientation, but be afraid to ask you about it.

Doug, don’t quit you’re day job on the Movie blog to become a fashion expert. You’re not quite there yet.
The outfit that stuck out for me was Marion Cottilard. She just looked beautiful.
Helen Mirren was good as well.
The worst was Cameron Diaz. What happened there? She looked like she had slept on the street the night before. She sure has lost her looks now altogether. My grandma looks younger than her.

I saw some pics of Kate (”My other wife”) Beckinsale at the post-oscar Elton John AIDS Benefit party yesterday and, as usual was blown away. An English Rose if there ever was one! “Woof–Ubberman–Woof!” …anyone hear anything on the release date for “Whiteout”, I thought it was set for the 26th of this month…????? Hope everyone has a great week!
