The Boys is what got me into comic books. It's so brutal though, so it could be a disaster as a film if they start toning everything down. It's grittiness adds so much to its charm. still excited xo

I would love to see this movie done too. I dont think that the sexual scene that they have in the comics would be a problem Casey. They dont need to show any of it if they dont wanted to. In the movies they can get the same message across without the sexual scene. But I am sure they would but some in there lol. Other thing is they dont have to come up with a good ending in the movie. Make some room for another movie. Keep her coming.

I honestly hope this movie is released. At first I wasn't sure if it would gain enough popularity, but with the recent wave of relativly unknown comic titles, like Scott Pilgrim and Kick Ass, being turned into films, I now have high hopes. The only real problem they might have is the sexual scenes, and MOST of those happen in the later issues anyways. I'm not sure where they would start or stop with the story if it was a movie though. There doesnt really seem to be a good ending, especially if they start at the very beggining.

I see 1 possiblaty, (Sorry for shitty spelling) of them filming it full out balls to the wall violet and sexed up like the book then cutting the hell out of it for theater release and than releasing it on dvd fully uncut!!! they did it some what with the watchmen movie!!! maybe they can do it here!! Hopefuly! make a bulk of their money on dvd sales compaired to theatrical! The prob with that is it would need sequels to complete the storyand most films that rake in money on dvd or blue-ray don't get goood sequels!!!

They've been trying to make a Preacher film for years with no luck because of its tone and extreme violence and sexual nature. HBO nearly even put into production a Precher tv series but pulled the plug after actually reading some of the comics. Now a comic that is all about a team going round basically killing and maiming superheroes because of thier... ahem, "hobbies" will in my mind not be put into production. If by any chance it is, it will suck like the teen in issue 1.

I'm kind of divided about a movie based on "The Boys."

Depending on the angle they approach it, I could see a mellowed-out version hitting the screen with a PG-13 or R rating, while still keeping some of the core elements that make the comic so great. This is likely what is going to happen, similar to what I am seeing with Watchmen.

At the same time, I really wouldn't mind seeing a NC-17 or NR (Not Rated) version that does stay true to the comic source; violence, sex, drugs, blackmail, and even moral dilemmas and a love story. It would likely be a low-budget release (so cheesy special-effects), but I'd go see it anyhow.

The Boys is one of my favourite comics from the last 3 years and I cannot wait to see it on screen. I am a little worried though, I want them to stay faithfull to the original comics but they are so viceral & violent I cant see Columbia making a movie that nasty.
It is such a shame that one of the most original, dark and fierce comics will probably slip-by-unnoticed by the masses when it's released on the big screen.

Waaa Waaaa! I want a JLA movie! Waaa Waaaaa!

1. The only decent JLA ever was the most recent animated one that began with Batman the Animated Series and took over a decade to build up with no universe reboots.

2. They are going to make a JLA movie, but they want you to pay to see the various origin stories first. So at LEAST seven DC super hero movies before we see a JLA movie.

3. Do you remember what happened the last time they did "JLA The Movie"?

4. By the time they get round to making it, the Superhero Movie will have gone the way of the Western and the War Movie after there golden age in the fifties and sixties. No one decent will want to touch it with a barge pole.

5. Watchman better than JLA, The Boys better than JLA.
