We have obtained the new poster for the upcoming Forest Whitaker corrupt cop drama Street kings, Thanks to ropeofsilicon for the hookup:

The flick stars Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Chris Evans, Terry Crews, Hugh Laurie, Common, Naomie Harris and The Game and is based on an original idea by James Ellroy and centers on a disgraced cop who discovers corruption inside the police department and sets out on a mission to redeem himself. David Ayer will helm the project from a Jamie Moss-penned rewrite.

I like good cop vs. bad cop movies. To see corrupt cops get taken down by one of their own makes for delightful storytelling. Most people do not become police officers because they love justice, but some certainly do. These idealists are like Jedi heroes to those outside the force, but to the other police officers, they must come off as delusional assholes.

To add to the dynamic you usually have a few older cops that used to love justice, but the weight of the world and tribulations of their occupation have stripped it away. They usually tell the young cops things like “one day you will understand,” or “yea, I used to think like you – then I grew up. Life is hell kid.” I hope this film has a few of these grim older cop types.

We get to Forest and Keanu as men in blue April 11.

The trailer looks the shits, and the poster looks more like a video game box, but it is James Elroy.

Could go either way on this.

Hugh laurie has done well even with that cheesy american accent as he has a really strong british, I do miss him on jeeves and wooster and other british sitcoms, Although i bet he never thought he would be where he is when he was supporting blackadder even now i would say his best piece
