Dragon Gets Bumped To 2010

NagafenIt looks like the fight for 3-D screens has begun. We get word today that Dragon has rescheduled thanks to the mystical caves of Yahoo:

Mindful of a crowded schedule for 3-D films late next year, DreamWorks Animation has pushed its offering “How to Train Your Dragon” by four months to March 26, 2010. The move leaves the studio with just one release, “Monsters vs. Aliens,” scheduled for next year, and three for 2010: “Dragon,” “Shrek Goes Fourth” on May 21, and “Master Mind,” the working title of a film set for November 5 that year.

I have said before that I am excited about the onslaught of 3-D films that are about to be upon us. One of the things I did not consider was the fact that 3-D screens are far more limited right now, and real estate is going to get competitive. As more 3-D films are launched I think we will see the jostling of dates become commonplace as to maximize revenues and viewership.

It is with open arms that I welcome a film entitled Dragon. 3-D dragons are good stuff in my books; It was a delight to see one in Beowulf and I hope to see many many more on the silver screen before my time on earth is done.

I would love for anyone to revisit old black and white sci-fi films on the 3-D screen. Think Mars Attacks with Giant Ants and you will be onto what I am wishing for. I need to get a custom pair of 3-D specs made, the time will soon be upon us.
