Has anyone from the production or Michael Mann’s office confirmed Bale for the role? Because last time I spoke to someone on the project they were only in talks. They have been in talks with many actors for the same role and actresses for the film as well and they had not signed anyone other than Depp.

Sounds interesting. A bit of off topic sad news. CNN just announced that Heath Ledger has been found dead at his Manhatten apartment.
