Heath Ledger as the Joker Picture

Flying around all over the net is the above picture of Heath Ledger as the Joker. So far the image lines up with the news we heard about the appearance of the Joker as it would be in Dark Knight.

* The Joker will have gray skin with scarring.

* The Joker’s costume will be raggedy

* He’s going to look damn scary, not clownish.

Now granted this is a test image and might need some brushing up still. It doesn’t really show off his costume much. But I like it.

Its dark and edgy, with a tiny bit of crazy in there like you might expect from someone living out of a shopping cart. I would like to see something of him actually ACTING crazy so we can see how well the smile and the eyes penetrate the effect of the look.

EDIT: Thanks to the post at Batman on Film it is confirmed that this image is a fake. Thanks for the Heads up Joey.

  1. So……..How do all the people who showed their negativity and condescending attitudes towards Heaths performance/image, before the movie was released feel now after you’ve seen the movie? I’m not one to to give my opinion in such a manor although, such faithless energy was given before people knew what they were talking about. So why speculate? It’s in the true humor especially the joker would value; “You can’t always tell what will become, although perseverance portrayed in an optimistic standpoint will lead us to see “Faith” is the only thing we can hold on to. You just have to believe….even if the world has taught us to endure the inevitable.”

Great Job Heath Ledger. You will be missed but never forgotten.

  2. The scars are the BEST, baby! He has a Glasgow Grin! Awesome! Thugs in Merry old England/Ireland would cut a victims cheeks from the edge of the mouth to the ear. Then sometime they would beat the stuffing out of the victim to make their face tear apart. The coolest thing would be if the Joker did that to himself..what a badass!

  3. I agree. This is not Heath. All you have to do is look at the facial features. I have all the confidence in Heath. Good or bad movie he plays his part to perfection.

  4. Yea, I read about that yesterday…too bad. I actually like it. As I’ve said before, I really hope that they make it so that his nose is pointier and what not. The scaring is here to stay though, I know that for sure.

And there will be NO nipples on ANY Batsuit. Bale already explained that years ago…

  5. Sweet pic. But I am glad it’s fake though. Looks too much like the Crow. While I love that movie and the character, it’s not the Joker.

The scarring is cool, just should be done differently. The hair, eyes, and skin tone all look wonderful though. Heh, now I really can’t wait to see what he’s really going to look like.

  6. well jay that is a huge disappointment to me……

its been done….its unoriginal and its unnecessary…..

i will reserve judgement until I see a real pic but I really do not like this fake picture…..

I will give ythem the benfit of the doubt as I loved batman begins but the joker is my absolute favorite pop culture character across all spectrums….comics, movies, television, books…. everything.

He is my absolute favorite fictional character of all time and I really hope they don’t fuck him up…

burton/nicholsons charactization was good but jack was way too old and way too round to be any kind of definitive joker…..

I would have liked to have seen adriend brody play it myself..he fuckinglooks like the joker but i don’t know if he could loosen up enough to play the maniacal side…

I like ledger so I won’t judge until I see more..but i really do not like the scar smile…..lame and unoriginal.

  7. Alfie,
I think the scarring is here to stay.

The picture may be a fake but I think the idea behind it is solid.

Batman on Film has said that the Joker will have a light grey, scarred face.

    Personally,
I like the scarred grin way better than that prosthetic grin that Jack wore.

  8. That doesn’t look like Heath and perhaps it’s a stand in, but I like this! It looks really creepy. The only thing I’d like to see is maybe the nose being larger, and pointier. Aside from that it looks awesome. It’s up to Ledger now

  9. Is he supposed to look scary there? He looks more like a cute goth chick. I almost want to kiss him and I’m not even gay.

    “I can’t quit you Joker!”

  10. It looks like Ledger to me. And God, let me say this, it looks AWESOME!!!

I have total confidence that Ledger will be able to pull it off, especially now. YES!!!

And “The Crow” nod is spot on.

  11. I hope this is just one of many options they are looking at. I do not like the scarring thing at all.

    Its been done….ichi the killer….nip/tuck…..

I am not going to take too much from this as it is obviously a test run but I don’tlike the scarring thing

  12. That doesnt look like Heath Ledger, but Ive seen this a few other places. I think its a test shot for the make-up using a stand in, not Heath. But I do think its legit and part of TDK production process. I like the direction they are going with it.

  13. i dunno, i don’t think this is heath ledger under the makeup. maybe it’s a test shot of someone else who is suppose to look like heath dressed up as the joker. that i can believe. anyways, i’m reserving judgment.

  14. It’s definately on the right track, though it feels a little too similar to ‘The Crow’. It’s going to be totally in Ledger’s hands as to whether this works or not. I have total confidence in Nolan.
