Ramis And Apatow Join Forces In Year One

RamisIt appears that a gaggle of comedic talent will be coming together for some bible-based comedy in Year One. We get the scoop from our friends at comingsoon:

Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad’s McLovin) will reunite with producer Judd Apatow for Columbia’s Year One, a comedy set in biblical times. Oliver Platt, David Cross, Vinnie Jones and Juno Temple are also in final negotiations for the film.

The movie stars Jack Black and Michael Cera and is being directed by Harold Ramis. The movie is based on a story by Ramis who, along with Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, penned the screenplay.

When a house of comedy is built on the foundation that is Harold Ramis, you can be certain that the kitchen will have an island. Meatballs, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Back To School, Animal House are all children that have been birthed from the glorious vagina that is his mind. Ramis writes comedy like Eddy Van Halen plays guitar. HIs projects must always be sought out and worshipped like golden calfs.

This cast is a motley crew of differing comedic styles and talents; it will be a delight to see these guys riff off of each other. The inclusion of Vinnie Jones is certainly a standout in this list of “ha ha” hombres. I am curious to see what role he will play in the film. He is quickly becoming my favorite on screen hooligan and has a look that says “give me your valuables”.

A movie by Ramis that is Biblical satire looks like a winner to me. I can honestly say that this is fantastic news for the entire globe. Filming for this juggernaut begins in January and I will be certain to keep all of you posted on the progress.
