Jazz In Transformers 2?

Jazz-Transformers-2WARNING – If you haven’t seen Transformers yet (why haven’t you?!?!?!) this may contain a bit mild spoiler, but trust me it’s not a major one.

One of the characters that I really feared would come off as excessively cheesy in this past summer’s “Transformers” was Jazz. early on he was described by the filmmakers as hip and street wise. STREET WISE?!?!?! Thankfully Jazz came off pretty solid. He was funny where he needed to be, but also pretty serious as a battle hardened 2nd in command of the Autobots. As most of you know, he meets a brave yet gruesome end when he goes head to head with Megatron while trying to buy time for Sam.

There isn’t much mystery to it… the dude was ripped in half. So that makes it really odd to hear a whisper that Jazz may be back for Transformers says Moviehole.

I liked Jazz, and I was disapointed to see him come to his untimely end… but he’s dead. Leave him dead. Yes yes… I know they’re bringing Megatron back, but he wasn’t fully dead anyway.

  6. I agree with DJ Iron hide said we couldnt save him from megatron ripping him but it never mentioned that they couldnt put him back together. Even my uncle said he used to watch transformers back in the day and he told me the only way to kill a transformer is to kill the allspark in its body

  7. As much as I would love to see Jazz back, sadly it’s highly unlikely. I like the character in the classic series, and I felt they designed the character perfectly in the movie, but the worst part of it all is the wasted potential. They should bring him back with the Allspark shard, just to get the kickass scenes they should have had in the first one. I love the agility, and how they gave him Windchargers magnetic power. Jazz’s smaller size and superior maneuverability could make for some of the best action in the movie, just picture him doing something along these lines http://youtube.com/watch?v=GhscgfYraf4 I do this stuff too, so I can seriously respect this kind of action.

  8. HMMM… I GUESS THAT IT IS A MYSTERY…

WHAT WAS HIS LAST WORDS AGAIN OH YEAH
JAZZ-“YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME!!”
    MEGATRON-“NO I WANT TWO”

    THEN SPLANG!!

  9. I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT JAZZ IS DEAD,SERIOUSLY MAN HE WAS THE COOLEST OF THE AUTOBOTS.

WELL IT WAS NICE AND PEACEFUL WHEN JAZZ WAS YOU KNOW “STILL ALIVE” LET JAZZ SLEEP IN PEACE…HMMMM I STILL WONDER AFTER THE BATTLE WITH THE DECEPTICONS WHERE DID OPTIMUS PRIME PUT HIM?

    HMMM…

  10. What exactly is “wasn’t fully dead?” I mean you’re either dead or alive right. So, if Megatron is Dead and they bring him back, then they should do the same for Jazz. Maybe he wasn’t “really” ripped in half!!

  11. I think the sequel should include Omega Supreme and the Devistator (constructions). Maybe Omega Supreme could scan the space shuttle on his descent into Earths orbit and also scan a train as he lands.

Starscream could bring back other decepticons and form the constructions. In turn they can build a underwater decepticon base around Megatron (where the dumped him into the ocean that is), to try and bring him back. This would tie the movie in with the original 80’s cartoons, and get the series back on track again.

  12. A pre-quel or more likely a sequel with flashback storytelling would be pretty cool too. Plus would certainly make it easier on the storytellers as far as explaining Jazz in the movie.

And I’d say you are in the minority about the “excessively cheesy” Martin.

  13. Hmm. Wasn’t pretty much every Transformer in the movie “excessively cheesy”. Whenever I hear people talking about this movie like it was the movie event of the summer or even the year, I wonder if they saw the same movie I did… :?

  14. I hear on the HDVD that you can set it to watch the Transformers in “game mode” where you get a health status on the charachters through the movie and can see what their health levels are. Yeah, Jazz dying was kind of a bummer, but in this series you’re never to certain anything dead will remain that way.

Oh and here is a cool Transformers Fan Page that is real fun and has the first twelve episodes of the original Transformers cartoon!

  15. I thought the second flick was going to have more Cybertron life, prior to Megs coming to Earth? There would definitely be enough storyline for Jazz to be “alive” without him actually being “brought back from the dead”. Only time will tell anyways, or at least until pics are flashed all over the internet over the next couple years! I highly doubt Jazz will be “revived” in more of a future capacity.

BTW guys, don’t confuse “the Matrix” from the original movie and storyline of G1 and think that it’ll be used in the live-action movies, as I’m sure there’s some sort of copyright protection on the name from The Matrix trilogy. I highly doubt the original “Matrix” will be brought back in even the slightest term. Just my humble opinion…

  16. “Streetwise” Jazz was the most ridiculous character in the movie. I was happy to see his very limited screen time put to a quick and satisfying end.

That said- the thing’s a robot. Remove memory card. Insert in new body. Done: Jazz v. 2.

  17. Careful guys…

This could be Michael Bay leaking false info like he stated a while ago. So take this with a grain of salt.

I’m all for this! besides Jazz is my fav character of the TF universe. I’m happy even he appears in a flashback.

  18. I will believe nothing I see about Transformers 2 since Michael Bay stated he would purposely report false information or even leak it onto the internet himself just to keep everyone off their guard.

While I would like the idea of Jazz being back(even though I didn’t like his voice) I just can’t fall into the hype.

  19. I just would like to note that, if I recall correctly, Ironhide, not Ratchet said “we couldn’t save him”. Possibly meaning that they couldn’t prevent what Megatron did to him, not that they won’t be able to put him back together.

  20. So he said what we said, as long as the spark is safe then its possible to bring the Transformer back.

I also bring to light Transformers: Beast Wars. Now some may not like Beast Wars nearly as much, but it brings two key points to the table.

    1. That even after the spark has moved on from a host body, that spark can still be brought back by going to the Matrix.

    2. Sparks can inhabit bodies other than their original form, as shown when Both Optimus Primal and Megatron merge the sparks of Optimus Prime and Megatron (G1 version), respectively, with their own, making them even more powerful.

Also, Prime said “…we can not return life to our planet.” Not that they didn’t have enough of the All Spark or the know how to bring back a Transformer that was merely ripped in half, after showing that a transformer who had over a quarter of his body ripped off returned to full functional state.

I’m just saying that its well within the mythology of Transformers to have Jazz and/or Megatron brought back from “the grave” for the next movie.

And on that note, what would others think that Jazz/Megatron would transform into after their comeback? Would they keep it the same? Adapt?

  21. Long time no post John…………………

    Explanation:

Jazz will reappear most likely with old school colors!

The official toy for the movie states that Jazz was rebuilt by ratchet after the battle with megatron. Essentially if your spark is safe, you can transfer into a new body or have your old shell rebuilt.

Toy: Movie Deluxe Class Autobot Jazz Redeco

    Par tof decription:
“During the long process of being rebuilt by AUTOBOT RATCHET, there was a lot of time to think…”

    Varun Lella… mystery solver

  22. I’ll just point out that the Autobot Medic said he was dead. He and Ironhide brought the body to Prime and said “We couldn’t save him”. He’s gone.

The only way I see them brining him back is if they find another AllSpark.

Some people think Prime still has a functional piece of the AllSpark, but remember, at the end of the movie Prime himself says in his message to the Autobots in space “With the AllSpark destroyed, we can not return life to our planet”.

I’m just curious to see how they’d do this.

Jazz had a heroic and selfless death. Let him have it and keep him dead.

  23. I agree with Josh and DJ. In Transformers (the movie and in the mythos) you can only kill a transformer by DESTROYING its SPARK. The ONLY Transformers that clearly had their sparks destroyed were Brawl (Decepticon Tank), and maybe, Megatron. Other than that, Jazz should be salvageable.

  24. I agree with DJ. How is Jazz more dead than Megatron? I would think getting your spark overloaded or whatever exactly happened to MT, would be worse than getting your mechanical torso ripped in half.

  25. I certainly see it in the realm of possibility. Bumblee lost over a quarter of his body during the fight. I’m sure there is a chance that Ratchet can find a way to preserve his spark and put the two halves back together. Certainly not too far fetched to happen. Jazz merely was ripped in half, Megatron fused with the All Spark, I’d certainly say Megatron got the worse of the two endings. Time will tell on how they plan to wrap this up.

If you recall, Ultra Magnus in Transformers: The Movie, was essentially blown to shreds by Galvatron and Cyclonus and his armada, yet Wreck-Gar and his buddies were able to patch him up good as new.

  26. Glad they are bringing him back, maybe this time he can be the Porsche that he should be opposed to the Pontiac Soltice they made him. He was my favourite toy out of the bunch.
