Get Smart Pictures

We have a sneak peek of the upcoming Get Smart. We were able to duplicate these pictures thanks to our friends at IESB:

These pics do not show us too much, but a shot of the classic shoe-phone in action is kick-ass. I could not be more pleased with the casting choices of Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway. They are both blazing talents at the zenith of their careers and it is going to be delightful to see them work together. As much as I dislike remakes, I do have hope for this one . From where I sit – it looks like they are trying to respect the original series, and do as true a recreation as possible.

Ken Datvian from Borat is playing the evil henchman in the film and that’s enought to get me there.

  2. Arc Cadio says:

I wonder if the shoe-phone has bluetooth.

I’m so hoping this movie will be good. I’m a fan of the show, grew up watching reruns with my mom as a kid.
They had a pre-screening in my area a couple of weeks ago, but I couldn’t go because of previous plan. =/

Anne Hathaway getting romantic with Steve Carrell onscreen is going to be downright disgusting to watch. The age difference is so blatantly obvious. Yikes. As soon as their lips touch, Amber Alerts will go off nationwide.

I find it interesting to think the shoe phone was invented when cell phones didnt exist during the original show… so it was kind of comical yet cool to see smart use it. Now its just comical in this day and age.

I think Carrells strengths are perfect for this part. That obliviousness masked with intelligence type of humor could be prevalent in this movie, and no one does that better than Carrell.
