It is trailer and poster day today! We have the most recent trailer from The Spiderwick Chronicles made available to us through the wizardry of You Tube:

I like fantasy films a lot, but this one doesn’t seem to be working it for me. This looks like Narnia had sex with Pan’s Labrinth and they made a mistake.

Narnia having sex with Pan’s Labyrinth wasn’t necessarily the mistake. The mistake was letting Nickelodeon be the wet nurse.

That said, I still might give this a try.

  2. Monty says:

I would have perferred it if they had animated this film using Tony DiTerlizzi’s artwork, it will probably get lost in the flood of Harry Potter wanna-bes.

in my opinion it would be great if studios stopped making kiddie fantasy, and staretd making epic high fantasy.

I don’t want to see this bastard child of a film!

Read the source material and then you’ll want to see this movie. From the trailers it looks like they got this one totally right. It’s high on my list of movies in the next year.

  7. Ethan says:

I agree Matt, I read all five books and liked them!
If they made this movie serious and a little dark I bet lots more people would like it. I don’t really care though I will be there opening week, whether people think its gay or not!

  8. Elizabeth says:

I agree too, the books are excellent, and Holly Black said that the movie is a very good adaptation of them. I think it looks great.

I wouldn’t mind more of DiTerlizzi’s artwork though. The man is amazing.

  9. Matt says:

I dunno Doug it lokks like it might still be kinda good I’m gonna check it out I think. I might read the books first thought.
