2) Transformers DVD release and 2 disc set

3) Ian McKellen says he’ll play Gandalf with our without Jackson

4) Burt Reynolds movies (tangent)

5) 20 Most anticipated movies of the upcoming year

6) New Design and features on The Movie Blog

7) Which to see first, Gone Baby Gone or 30 Days of Night

All this and a few things more.

Woot! Finally a Movie Blog Roundtable. It’s been awhile, John.

  2. bdawg923 says:

The RSS feed didn’t update. Is there a new one you guys are using? Can you include the current RSS feed for Uncut in this post please?

  3. Rick King says:

Hey what happened to the RSS feed, the one I am using is no worky!

    http://odeo.com/channel/143516/rss.xml

  4. Rick King says:

Looks like the feed url has changed, no podcast from today, http://odeo.com/channel/143516/view

  5. John A. says:

It also looks like the download is cutting out at 46 minutes and it is supposed to be longer. Can’t tell how long but it just cuts out mid stream.

  6. Andrew says:

Yeah, it did that to me, too. The feed cut out at 46 minutes.

  7. Ray Flaherty says:

I NEED TO KNOW IF GONE BABY GONE IS ANY GOOD!!

  8. John says:

    Hey guys,

Ok, it’s a brand new podcasting system we’re using, so we had a couple of glitches.

    1) You should all find now that the whole podcast is up, not just 43 minutes.

    2) There is a NEW FEED for those of you who subscribe to the show. See the post.

    Hope that helps.

  9. Kristina says:

George Clooney as Gandalf?! Campea, Campea, Campea…….way too young, way too good looking to play a old, craggy wizard. Lord, do you want Zac Efron to play Bilbo?!:)

  10. John says:

    Hey Kristina,

John Travolta was way too skinny and way too male to play his role in Hairspray. :P

  11. Kristina says:

Oh John, that role called for a guy to specifically cross-dress to play that role. Clooney doesn’t fit the role of an old-ass wizard. I’m sorry, but the mere thought of Clooney wearing that HAT and walking with that staff just cracks me up.

  12. alfie says:

downloading the show now…please don’t tell me campea suggests clooney as gandalf???

    dear sweet lord…

  13. AjaxLou says:

For Gandalf if McKellen were not available, I’d say Christopher Lee. He was dying to play Gandalf in LOTR.

Great to have the show back – makes the morning commute so much more enjoyable.

  14. PhoenixP3K says:

The adress you given doesn’t work for me… it’s giving me all the blog posts.

But since it’s a WordPress blog you can use

    http://www.themovieblog.com/category/uncut-podcast/feed/
A specific feed for that caterogy

I really love the round table :D

  15. Kristina says:

    @AjaxLou

Lee wouldn’t work. We already know and associate him with Saruman.

  16. Whirlwind time…

    1) Justice League.

No comment, really. I don’t really talk about it anymore. Yet, if Wonder Woman had a solo film (almost did) Sophia Bush…maybe. But gosh, most of the names…yeech. Mary Elizabeth Winestead is okay as an actress (she was last seen in Die Hard 4) …but …yech. Pull the plug, Warners. Or go animated* and have the actors do voices. (it is also my understanding the writer strikes will not effect animated films?)

    2) Transformers DVd.

Gio, before you buy, consider Target. Every now and then some SE DVDs have “special collector packaging” that is sold exclusively at various retail stores, like Best Buy or Circut City. I could have sworn Target has a Transformers DVD edition (two disc) that has…a “Transforming” DVD cover.

Some imgs of it can be found here:

    http://www.seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=11765

    3. Gandalf: McKellen will return though- I’m sure he will. Besides, remember ‘Sky Capn’ and the World of Tommorow and ‘Superman’? Someone got Brando back from the dead; Lawrence Oliver too. So Richard Harris…

…bah. if McKellen does not return, I’ll put my dollar down on Terence Stamp. Kneel before Gandalf!

    4. If Stallone made Rocky and Rambo, Ford does Indy, does that mean Burt Reynolds returns as The Bandit, Hooper or Detetive Sharky?

    5. Gone Baby Gone, 30 Days…? Neither one.
    Rendition

  17. Kezza says:

I’m having major problems getting this podcast. Why won’t it download via itunes?

  18. Phil Gee says:

    Wizard queers:)

It’s good to have you back roundtable; and i think that Alan Rickman, with some old age make-up and beard, could make a great Gandalf.

  19. Craig Ryan says:

No ian Mckellin? Straight for Patrick Stuart Please. If the movie takes place about a hundred years before, I think stuart would have the right amount of wrinkle for a younger, yet still old, wizard.

  20. bunnyhero says:

someone should update the itunes podcast listing…

  21. Brian says:

    PhoenixP3K – Thankyou!

  22. Bla says:

The podcast feed is not working. Please fix it already.

  23. Jason says:

Please update the iTunes feed. I haven’t listened to the podcast in many weeks because of this!

  24. Fokus says:

God I hope FORD does the right thing here. I love my ’02 Mustang GT but I have begun to realize I have to get better fuel mileage and to do that it seems I have to get a lighter car. For me this will be in about 2 years as I have to pay of the F250 first as I can’t afford to make two vehicle payments but what to get? However it still has to be as FUN to drive as the GT is. As I can’t afford a BMW 135 what will it be, a MazdaSpeed 3, a Mini Cooper S, A Subaru WRX? None of these gets that much better mileage…
