Oops, sorry Rodney. :)

The news is interesting though. Personally I'm getting burned on Will Farrell, but he seems like an obvious choice if they're going to go the comedy route.

Ferrell is already prepared for the movie having played Marshall Willenholly in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. It's safe to say that Kevin Smith remembers the show.

Oh man - I want to see the Sleestaks and the Pylons with the tray of cheesy jewels. LoL I soooo loved this show as a kid. I haven't seen it in years, so I don't know if I would still like it as much. As for them making a movie...I don't know...I'd rather they leave it alone.

Mozzy beat me to it. Damn him:)

What I was gonna say was, did these people learn NOTHING from Evan Almighty? Comedies typically aren't MASSIVE blockbusters. When a comedy takes the box office by storm a la Wedding Crashers, it benefits from having a relatively low budget, so it makes its money back fairly quickly. This thing......$100 million plus however much they put into marketing....for this to turn a big profit, it HAS to be PG to appeal to a wide base, and even then, they might be in trouble. Ferrell isn't a big name with little kids, not to mention that the last film that he did that was kid-friendly(Kicking and Screaming) was absolute ass. If this film sucks, word of mouth will slaughter it. The closest thing that I can compare this positively to would be Night at the Museum, which was a bigger-budgeted comedy that had the advantage of opening around Christmas time. Ultimately, this film will live or die based on word of mouth and the release date.

Maybe they'll bring back the original Chaka? He'll obviously play chaka's dad. That would be cool. They can gather around and make stone soup.
