Wolverine Starts Shooting In November

I’m a big geek… this has been firmly established for a long time… and I also love the X-Men (comics and movies), so it should come as no surprise that I’m really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting his claws on again to reprise the role of Logan in the upcoming Wolverine movie.
We know that Jackman is coming back… we know they have a script… and we know they have a director hired… we just haven’t really known much else. Well… seems the movie is getting ready to do into full production and will start shooting in just 2 months! The folks over at Comingsoon give us this:
20th Century Fox is preparing Wolverine for a November start with Hugh Jackman returning as the title character. The site adds that, while the previous three “X-Men” films have been shot in Vancouver, the new spin-off will be shot in Sydney, Australia.
I’m one of those people who actually enjoyed X-Men 3. It was easily the worst of the X-Men movies, and there are several things they did quite wrong… but I still thought that if you just sat back, there was some fun to be had in the film. I didn’t like how soft they started making Wolverine… all weepy and gushy… but overall I still had fun. Here’s hoping they get back more to the essence of the character for Wolverine the movie.

I also thought that X-Men 3 had many problems, but was still a fun movie. I am really looking forward to the Wolverine movie as well. Thow in the fact that Magneto is getting made as well and it will be a great year for movies for me.
Let’s see…Hugh Jackman….sweaty….shirtless….I’m in.
This film dives more into the Weapon X situation? Will Wolverine have his “claws” or will they be ‘bones’? As for the Aussie shoot I’m okay there- after all, if it deals with “a mission” with Logan and Stryker, it could be excusable if they choose to go that way.
Just hope they have more success down under than Ghost Rider and Man-Thing.
See, Hugh CAN’T use his aussie accent….

I second that, it was really a terrible film and exemplifies everything I think is wrong with the way Brett Ratner makes movies (yet, oddly, still entertaining.) On the other hand, I’m not especially looking forward to this spin-off. They can be fun, but you’ve got to ask yourself whether it’s being made because there’s something to say, or just because they can.
I feel vibes from the latter and that’s never a good sign.
