3 More Cast in ‘The Haunting of Connecticut’

virginia-madsen.jpgLooks like a few strong actors are going to join Virginia Madsen in the latest horror flick about possession, ‘The Haunting of Connecticut.’

The Hollywood Reporter gives us this:

Elias Koteas, Martin Donovan and Kyle Gallner have boarded the horror film “The Haunting in Connecticut” for Gold Circle Films and Lionsgate.Gallner will play Madsen’s cancer-ridden son Matt, who becomes aware of the paranormal activity present around him. Koteas will play a priest and fellow cancer patient that Sara Campbell (Madsen) turns to for help. Donovan will play Madsen’s husband.

Normally I wouldn’t be excited about yet another possession film, but this time it’s a little different. Finally, a horror film that focuses on possessing a MALE for a change! How many rip offs of ‘The Exorcist’ have we seen that constantly put some poor teenage girl through the ringer? I think women have paid their dues…let’s see the boys go through some demon possession, shall we?

The Haunting of Connecticut will be shot this week in Winnipeg and will come early next year for all three of you who are interested.

  1. Terry Letourneau says:

The interesting thing is that The Exorcist was based on a real case (loosly of course) of a boy being possessed.

  2. Chris G says:

All of us men have been possessed by another force…..especially when we hit puberty :)

But this movie sounds interesting. Always love a good horror/thriller. Especially about possession or anything else that has to do about religion. Being raised Catholic, alot of that shit still scares me!

Hopefully a higher caliber of actors will generate interest in this. At least it does with me since most of the horror/thriller genre is pumping out garbage lately!

I couldn’t care less about this project, but I thank you for posting that picture of Virginia Madsen.

It IS time to put the guys through the demon possession ringer, isn’t it? ’bout time!
