Edward Furlong In Terminator 4?

So what ever happened to Edward Furlong? Yeah I know the man is still working, but for a little while there it looked like he was going to be a major player for many many years. He was just awesome in American History X, and obviously there is that other little film he was in called Terminator 2. Well whispers are shooting around that he’s been tagged to return as John Connor in the upcoming new Terminator movie.
The folks over at Moviehole give us this:
But maybe, just maybe, there is something to it and with whispers that Nick Stahl isn’t keen on returning to the role, who else would you consider than Furlong? He is, after all, the original whiny chum-of-cyborg. And with Schwarzenegger gone, you’re gonna want some link to the original series aren’t you?
I actually like the idea of Furlong coming back (if indeed this has ANY validity to it). It should be mentioned here that several sources are mentioning this, and IMDB (which is not always reliable as far as casting information is concerned) is listing Terminator 4 as Furlong’s next project (rumored). Remember, the studios are still fighting about who owns certain rights to the project… so would they actually be making casting decisions at this point?
So let’s set aside the debate on IF Furlong will be back as Connor for a moment. Let’s assume for just a minute that he will be back (no pun intended), what do you think of that? Are you happy to have a throw back from one of the original movies back to take his role? With Arnold gone would you rather them just wipe the slate clean and get a whole new cast? Would you rather see Nick Stahl in the role? What do you think?

Good news hope its true… the guy needs a way to get himself back in the game and he would be a welcome return to the franchise.
I would rather see Edward Furlong back than Arnold. Unless Arnold plays a human character (and I have said this before) who gets captured by Skynet and becomes the template for the Terminators.
If this is the last Terminator (there seems to be more fighting in the courts than in the war against the machines) it would be cool to end the movie by having the humans taking over the time displacement equipment and finding out that some terminators had gone through. Then have John Conner sending Kyle Reese back to 1984. Have the series come full circle.
Terry- That’s really the only way they CAN end the movie and why I contend this is pretty much the dumbest movie ever made with the intentions specifically designed on our money. I mean I already saw this movie during the flashbacks for Reese in the first and in the Terminator telling John about his life in T2. WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. What kind of movie is there with no suspense? Yes you can vouch for Titanic and everyone knowing the ship is going to sink, but we didn’t know about the main story at all. Why waste our time and threaten our intelligence as an audience with something they can’t possibly improve on or make us forget we know what is going to happen? I don’t care if Claire Daines’ character suddenly looks like Scarlett Johansson and she is having her first nude scene, I’m not going to watch my childhood be rapped in the ass by these idiots. MAYBE if Cameron was on board it would be a different story since it is his story to tell but he isn’t so no.
And for the record they already showed Arnold being scanned and whatnot at Skynet in order to become the future terminator that we all know and love so that doesn’t really need to be in this movie.
Lord God no.
Please no.
Oh Hell no!
Fuck me in the goat ass, no.
NNNnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!……
no Stahl. no Hamilton. no Jimmy Cameron. i dug Eddie in American History X too (& even in Detroit Rock City), but this series is done. close the door on T4.
I think it would be an awesome move to bring back Edward Furlong for the 4th film! I just wish that they would have had him in Terminator 3 other than Nick Stahl, who I didn’t really like at all.
He looks like butt.
@ Kristina
Cause he fucking high every minute of the day.
That’s why he was removed form the first film, constantly stoned and drunk.
I meant t3 (last film not first film)
Well, I wouldn’t mind if he was in T4. But…what I’m about to say is going to be VERY UNPOPULAR. [I know, I'm just a meanie today; sorry folks...]
*Wipe the slate clean*
Not in a reboot/remake, but with a new cast in T4. Consider this: if, in T3, two characters are in the nuke shelter. Where are they going to go? A film could focus on the birth pangs of Future War, (as if were really that needed) and have a early Terminator. Or…a Kristanna Loken model. After all, the odd brain trust at Sci-Fi just canned Painkiller Jane….only now she’s a good TX.
‘kay, maybe not.
