Iron Man Trailer Online… sorta

Hijacked straight from the cam of some over eager fanboy at the SanDiego Comic Con (No, not John Campea) we get a first look at the IRON MAN trailer.
I have to say it looks pretty damned good.
Its a little sketchy in the darker parts, but we get to see the main idea behind it all. I think Downey is going to do an incredible job as Stark. He plays the millionaire playboy thing SO well.
Now all we have to do is get him drunk so John will like the movie too.
Well it looks like the Terms of Service caught up with this guy. Hope you saw it while it was still up.
Edit – Found on YouTube… for now

Now that is a great trailer, Don’t you just love how they play Black Sabbath’s Iron Man near the end.
that looks…AWESOME!!
Absolutely spot on casting with Downey Jr.
That kicks some maximum ass-age!!! Let’s just hope we not seeing the best parts. Ah, what the hell just seeing the gray Shell-Head makes it worth the price of admission.
I mean. WOW
o…..m……g yahooooooo this movie looks fantastic!!
*loses shit*
twould seem The Dark Knight has a rival in the kickass stakes.
“Now all we have to do is get him drunk so John will like the movie too.”
Screw Campea, Rodney.
This is a much clearer bootleg than the Spidey 3 presentation that leaked onto youtube last summer. I’m starting to wonder if Paramount was counting on this leaking. Favreau even made a flippant comment about that very thing. Smart move if it’s true of course.
And as i said on the community, i’m getting chills watching an Iron Man that i know is a real guy in armour as opposed to CGI.
HAhahahaaaaa!!!!
“Can I ask you a few questions?”
“She’s beautiful.”
“Hi!”
Now THAT is how you do a trailer. All those bozos blowing their loads over a minute’s worth of Dark Knight teaser dialogue with a Sling Blade Joker voice ought to have a look at this. I wasn’t interested at ALL in Iron Man, I don’t read comics, but damn, count me IN. I’ve never been much of a Downey fan, but he just OOZED charisma throughout that whole thing. I was very surprised.
I seriously can’t wipe the smile from my face. Man, next year is gonna RULE……….
Hm. I think the suit looks really cheesy, but that’s just me. Love the dialogue though.
Oh my God…
Now I’m gonna go change my underwear.
Well I was never a big Iron Man fan. But I must say that this movie looks great compaired to studio slop spider-man. I love spider-man more than Iron Man but as far as the movie goes this movie looks but better the first try. Looks as good as super-man, fun as TMNT and dynamic like Batman Begins. Speaking of which lets not start a debate of Iron Man and The Dark Knight and which one is better. I will see both of the opening day and I just hope to enjoy them both by staying true to the story, charaters and the spirt of the comic books thats all fans ask and looks like we are finally getting it.
@Naught
The first suit, Mark 1(I think it’s called, correct me guys if I’m off) looked bulky as hell, but I think it’s supposed to look like that. I’m guessing that one is sort of a prototype suit, but that one at the end, Mark 3, is his main suit. And it looks SWEET:)
@Grave
The Iron Man/Batman debate will be inevitable, especially since the two characters are very alike(billionaire playboys, own major companies, no superpowers, cool suits). That, plus the two films are being released in the same year….it’s inevitable. Most people know Batman, but if not for this movie, they’d never know Iron Man. I can just see people saying “poor man’s Batman” when they catch wind of this movie.
I must have played that darned thing twenty thousand times…hopefully in the coming week or two I can see it on a big screen, and not a funny angle. Of course, it wouldn’t surprise me if it got yanked…some of this might simply be a highlight reel and not the real trailer.
After seeing Iron Man outrun the jets and that last shot streaking over the sky for the zillionth time….well…
That’s..it. I’m putting my pennies down on this one. Mark my words. Best film adapted from a Marvel comics character. Honest. It looks like they left all the best parts out of the teaser. In any case, you can hear in that above clip that the masses are PUMPED.
Wonder what this will play in front of. Bourne Ultimatum? Stardust?
Spiderwick? (which looks wicked, BTW)
how good was that. looking good keep it coming.
…and Kristina has some taste, Big sam.
I bet most people thought the Prototype was going to be the official suit until the near end when the REAL suit was finally shown. Can’t wait to see this movie in action.
fuckin sick!!! thats looks really good….good pacing in the trailer….i just hope next summer will be better than this one….nothing but disappointments….
I think the IronMan and Batman trailers are both good. IronMan has to come out with the goods right off the bat being a new franchise. Batman can be more coy because it is a known entity. Kristina, I like and respect your opinion, but I disagree with you slamming the Batman trailer to praise IronMan.
For their respective places in their movie franchise life cycle I found both very good. The Ironman one is a more visceral experience – gotta love the Black Sabbath throw in!
Ah I see I see. Hm. It’s just the thought of a guy running around in a robot suit is – ahem – bit cheesy for me, but hey that’s just me. I will reserve judgement until I see the film. Love Robert Downey Jr tho.
Batman is a playboy? Really? Somehow I never got that aura from him, he always acted like a goody, doesn’t he? ;) And what’s with Nolan casting Maggie Gyllenhall?
(SIGH)It’s been taking off youtube. Christ Paramount, DON’T YOU GET IT? PEOPLE…..ARE GETTING EXCITED…….ABOUT YOUR MOVIE.
I know it’s inconcievable to you folks but try and listen to reason.
I still don’t get how people think this is a “poor man’s Batman”
The phrase makes no sense. There is nothing about Iron Man that is a cheaper replacement for Batman. Ironman has a rich story about a man who has it all and realizes money cannot buy happiness. It takes a bad heart to make him realize he has one.
Batman is the story of a child scarred and driven by revenge and an oversized sense of justice. The fact that he too is a millionaire playboy is just a cheap excuse to not have him deal with a day job.
Naught,it’s called replacing Katie Holmes with a far superior talent.
one cannot honestly compare the obvious TEASER trailer that is Dark Knight to what looks like a PROPER trailer for Iron Man. cos if that is a teaser that Favreau is lacing us with,then i most look forward to what he brings to the table after that.
This isn’t an actual trailer at all, it’s just a special preview that was created specifically for Comic-Con. This will probably never make it into theaters at all.
As for the thing itself: Everything looks good so far, but experience taught me not get too hyped up about that stuff anymore (especially after Spiderman 3). I’ll wait for a proper trailer or the actual movie.
@Darren
Thanks for the backup, baby:)
@Naught
Bruce Wayne IS a playa! He’s got a different gal pal in every movie. And in Begins, he uses his playboy persona to throw people off suspicion of him possibly being Batman.
@Lou
Thanks for the respect, but I stand by what I said about the Dark Knight teaser. I’m not saying the Dark Knight will suck, I’m saying that I don’t get why people are so hyped over a minute of….not even footage….AUDIO. AUDIO?!!!!!!! VOICES….and a Bat symbol…..whoopdy doo! Call me when the TRAILER is released.
I hear you Kristina. Judged side by side the IronMan trailer excites more than the Batman trailer no doubt.
The Bats trailer can show less because it already has the audience buy in from the first movie. To me the intent of the Bats trailer is to start answering people’s questions about whether or not Ledger can pull off the Joker role. It answered that question for me. Plus it sets up the tone or stakes of the movie as heard in the dialogue between Bruce and Alfred.
The IronMan trailer rules. Downey comes off as great, the dialogue is very snappy, love the flashes of biting comedy, and the suit shots are awesome. Personally I think they showed too much with the regular suit and the jets etc.
I am not saying either will suck either. In fact, both look awesome so far.
For the love of all that is holy people, this was put up as an “IRON MAN” trailer and has since been taken down. No where in this whole blog was there any mention of “The Dark Knight” or it’s trailer. I am looking forward to both movies and am in no way even going to compare the two.
For the people who didn’t like the Batman trailer, LET IT GO!!!! You will get a real trailer around Christmas.
Let IRON MAN have it’s moment!!!
@Sir Jig-A-Lot, true that Gyllenhall is much better than Katie Holmes but I actually watched Batman Begins for the second and third time.. and Holmes wasn’t that annoying. I think people was thrown off by the TomKat and the couch jumping that they immediately cast judgement, as I admit I did, but eh. I guess what I’m trying to say is that Gyllenhall is a much better actress, but Rachel Dawes doesn’t seem right on her. I don’t see her having any chemistry with the gorgeous Bale ;)
@Kristina
Heh, as long as the playboy is Bale, I will not judge, yaknowhatamsayin?
@Naught
All that John can do is delete the guy’s comments, which is what he did. I know I’m not an idiot, so it doesn’t bother me. At least John deletes the stuff, unlike SOME SITES who get off on attacking people. Some of you who know me from another site know who I’m talking about. I’ll leave it at that.
Now, back to Iron Man!
Hm, I checked back the other post where he bashed you the first time, and his post is still there. Whatev. Maybe he actually likes you. Kindergarten way of showing it?
That being said, I’m almost overload on all things blockbuster-y. Watched too many summer movies, and I’m still not done yet! I haven’t watched HP, Simpsons, Ratatouille, Knocked Up, oy.
ANyone have another link to the trailer???? I need to see it!
@ Naught
i don’t think Holmes sucked complete ass in BB. i watched it again a week ago & the performance ain’t as bad as i used to think,but considering all the guys she was acting alongside,she didn’t bring her A-Game to the table.
@Sir Jig
I think that WAS her A-game, which makes it even more painful.
@Jig and Kristina
Nope Holmes didn’t suck that much in BB, but oh well. Too little too late. If only she didn’t do Tom Cruise I think she could be doing better in the showbiz world. Let’s just hope for the best in TDK and Ironman. I have a feeling I could really love Ironman.
Kristina when I read these comments I chuckled. You were always saying you werent excited about Iron Man, you’know and “wake me when a trailer comes out” well now it is and your super syked (it seams).
It was funny to see exactly what you were saying actually happen!
Its great to have another Iron Man movie fan on board!
And whos this “bashing person” I keep hearing about?
Yes definatley better than that Dark knight teaser thing, as this topic seams to be being brought up so much.
And when people say that Iron Man is a poor mans Batman I say to myself if anything he is a RICH mans Batman. He is richer, he has a better more high tech (and VERY expensive) suit and is way smarter. Just a little irony in the first statement that always has me laughing.
@ Ethan:
How do you know Stark is richer than Wayne. Both own international companies and are billionaires, so I guess they are both equally wealthy. And he may have the more expensive suit, but no way in hell is Tony Stark smarter than Bruce Wayne. Stark would be nothing without the suit, Wayne could still kick his ass butt-naked.
@Ethan
I know, I was honestly shocked at what I saw. Everyone here was so pumped for Iron Man, and I was like “Huh? MEH!”. Not anymore. Good lord, that footage was AMAZING, and if the studio was smart, they’d let it circulate online. The Indy 4 panel footage was LEGALLY uploaded to Youtube by the studio for people to see. The Cloverfield trailer is flying around online, creating buzz. I don’t get why the studio would pull the footage when it’s getting such a good reaction. Dummies.
@ Mozzerino
Well not only dooes Stark have his own buisness but is also the head of SHIELD so his payrolls must be bigger. And by “his suit is expensive” i meant he can affoard expensive stuff (not that Batman can’t but..)
Also if Bruce Wayne could make a suit like Iron Man he would, get what I’m sayin?
@Kristina
Thats smart indeed. Do you remember the guys name?
And if no one caught it the post before me that says anonymos is me. Forgot to fill out that stuff.
@ Kristina
if that was her A-Game then she deserved to be cut from the mix.
i have a feeling Paltrow might actually bring it in Iron Man & defeat the “useless chicks in comic movies” curse.
@Ethan
Stark has his own business, and so does Wayne. Also, Ironman was given the Director’s position at Shield, it doesn’t mean he owns it, and that was very recent so it has no bearing on his wealth when he created the suit.
Furthermore, in Batman: Dark Knight Returns graphic novel he does don a suit of armour much like Iron Man’s to fight Superman. Because he has to. He doesn’t have a suit like that because he cant make one, he doesnt have one because he doesn’t have to. Best Batman story ever.
I was talking about Starks payroll man, he owns his own buisness Stark Enterprises and also is the head of SHIELD so that makes him a very rich man. Bruce Wayne only has his buisness and the money he makes I do not think can compensate for Starks two income sources.
I do not think that Bruce Wayne is as smart as Tony Stark. Wayne owns his Batman suits but they are outnumbered by Starks and the Iron Man suits outclass the Batman suits. They are WAY more tecnologically advanced, I mean he has one for every single enviorment he will be in in every single fight. Extremis can not be compared to a smart humans gadgets. And thats another thing Batman invents all this techno crap but none of it seems very advanced. Whereas Iorn Man has the best tecnology in the world, he basically gives the military their weapons. He has stuff that the military did not even know existed! Batman is a genius, I just think Stark is smarter.
@Ethan
I know his name, but I’m just gonna drop it. I don’t care. Who needs him when I’ve got YOU;)
And woohoo, it’s back online! Watch it FAST!
That damn Mark 3 suit looks so damn GOOD. And all of that is practical, right? Weel, the flying stuff is CG, but that shot of him just standing there with his eyes glowing…..I feel like those kids from that Spiderman 3 spoof.
“Everything….so……good….can’t…make…CUTS!”
Who says the job of Director of SHIELD even pays that well?
And who is to say that Tony Stark’s businesses are worth more than the Wayne Enterprises family of businesses (a list of which never seems to end)
Its two different worlds with no benchmarks to base them on. Either could be richer than the other and none of us will ever know. Its never been said what their net worth is. Ever. So its a pointless arguement.
And yes, Stark may be more technologically advanced, but Batman is far more clever. I can build a computer without thinking about it, but I can’t fix my car. Hard to compare “smarts” that way. Batman is plenty smart in the logic and detective areas, as well as a master chemist, biologist, metalurgist, and whatever else they decide he knows. Stark built a fancy suit. Apples and Oranges.
@ Rodney
I see what you mean, but SHIELD is just another job I’m not saying it payes well (even though I beleive that, its not the point) I’m just saying its MORE money.
Batman is a clever guy yes, but he dosnt seem to use those skills. He acomplishes stuff any smart guy could do but his cleverness hasnt really come into play in a bit. The Question is clever, IMO he is a better detective than Batman necause he is ALWAYS using his skills, whereas Batman just uses them when the situation demands.
I can settle the argument over which one is WEALTHIER, at least. Forbes did a list of the richest fictional characters. Bruce Wayne ranked number 7 with $6.7 BILLION bucks. Right behind him is Tony Stark at number 8 with $3 BILLION bucks. Here’s your link.
http://www.forbes.com/technology/2006/11/20/forbes-fictional-richest-tech-media_cx_mn_de_06fict15_intro.html
Ethan, clearly you are biased to think that someone who builds an exosuit must somehow be “smarter” than someone who is a master at all sciences, and the greatest detective of all time.
In the brains department, I am going to have to give it to Batman.
is it me or does this kristna just recycle johns opinions no offence intended
@ Rodney,
Iron Man builds these exo suits and that is desplaying his smarts. I just havn’t seen Batman do stuff like that. Iron Man shows way more genius than Batman. I see Batman guess correctly at someones technique, or beat the crap outa some guy but he dosnt seem to show HIS scientific genius. He may be a jack-pot scientist but I have never seen him stay stuff that has to do with chemistry, biology or metulurgy.
& i cannot believe you kids are arguing about the wealth of fictional characters..
My my, ain’t I popular lately?
twould appear so,K
Ethan, Batman built the first Bat suit and ALL the rediculously impossible gadgets that he somehow keeps in his utility belt. Lets not forget that in the comic he also built the Batmobile as well as any of the other Bat vehicles.
Also, you said “Iron Man builds these exo suits … I just havn’t seen Batman do stuff like that.” Then you need to go read Batman: Dark Knight Returns. He builds an exosuit in order to beat down SUPERMAN.
And Kristina doesn’t copy John’s opinions in this thread. John hasn’t expressed opinions in this thread.
And how does Forbes count these fictional characters’ ‘wealth’ is what I wanna know.
I go away for one day and you already got another fan, Kris. :D
Rodney,Batman had some former stuntdriver guy build most of his Batmobiles. do your homework.And if you read DKR (however badass,it it is not canon. just an alternate future)properly, there is no mention that Wayne built that exo-suit himself. i thought you boys were arguing the Batman/Ironman movies anyway. if so,that renders Lucius Fox as the guy who created the batsuit. are we done now?
In the comics, Batman made all his own gadgets and vehicles. It wasn’t until much later in the books that he adopted his gadget helper. Do your homework.
And in the Dark Knight Returns, Batman is retired and has no helper (aside from a girl Robin). It doesn’t specifically say he built it, but it doesn’t say he didn’t.
“He builds an exosuit in order to beat down SUPERMAN.”
that statement sounded so factual and confident.
so,why did i know you were gonna go for the “it doesn’t specifically say he built it, but it doesn’t say he didn’t.” vague comeback.
meh.this is not my battle anyway.
@Naught
I know. I got it like that:)
@Rodney
Thanks for the save:)
Well I have been defeated.
I’ll just go ahead and say, it seamed like a good comeback at the time.
