SAW IT!!!!!!! Lemmie just say this. The previous years have been weak and there was a reason why. They were saving all of their powerhouse material for the flick. A+++++ I saw a special Myspace screening last night in LA and I was dying. Hilarious. Wait (no spoiler) for the scene with the robot. AMAZING. GO STAT!

The movie starts with supposedly the movie version of Itchy and Scratchy, which is always a killer, no pun intended, and then Homer says something thats funny cause it has a good point, something like, Why pay to watch something that you can watch for free on TV?.

Lisa gets the whole town to stop polluting the lake, but Homer, because of his stupidity, dumps all of his pet spider-pig crap into the lake and Environmental Protection Agency, which is not recognized by Springfield civilians, traps the whole town inside a thick glass dome, this act was sanctioned by President Schwarzenegger. Everyone blames Homer so the Simpsons family runs away to Alaska, but when Springfield is in danger, Homer and his family return to save the day.

My opinion might be biased, since Im a fan of the Simpsons.
But I think the guys who wrote and direct and everyone who was behind this big project have outdone themselves once again. Matt Groening and James L. Brooks can be proud of their accomplishment.

The Simpsons movie not only presents the family and the town of Springfield in a colossal situation, including the death defying motorcycle stunt that Homer and Bart had to do to save the town,
the movie also gives tributes to some of the classic memorable episodes of The Simpsons in the past, like The springfield gorge, a part of the episode in the second season of the show where Bart Simpsons the Daredevil tried to jump over the gorge as a part of his stunt act.

you could even still see the ambulance that hit the tree as if its been sitting there for all these years.

From the time dumb Ralph Wiggum sings along to the tune of the theme music of 20th century Fox all the way to the part where Homer wants to make sure this time the hammer would hit the nail instead of his eyes, The Simpsons Movie has jokes and heartfelt moments, all the elements that make The Simpsons one of the most beloved families in the history of television.

When you watch this movie you could tell the efforts they put into making some of the scenes look big screen worthy. What makes it even cooler is the cool guest stars that make appearances in this film, like Tom Hanks and Green Day.
Dont miss Green Days latest rendition of the Simpsons shows famous music theme.

I've been reading reviews saying that this movie has more unnecessary "emotional" crap than Spiderman 3! That's not a good sign.

I live in Croatia, just went to the openning here...for some reason it opened the 26th here.....proof: www.blitz-cinestar.hr

I thought it was amazing! Going into the movie I thought it would mark a turning point in Simpson history: a movie which would stand alone from the tv series and take away from the classic Simpson feel. Not at all. The movie, although it had somewhat of a deeper plot than most of the tv episodes, didnt change my view of the Simpsons at all.

Some classic scenes in this movie, I wont give any specifics so that i dont spoil it.

I've been saying it looks like crap ever since the trailer came out for it. The only funny part was Spider-pig.

i just watched it in london (came out here today) and it was crap. not funny, ridiculous story line - even for the simpsons, and lame emotional bits. there was nothing worth watching again. in fact, for something that took 10 years to put together it has to be one of the biggest disappointments ever.

I stopped watching the show a few years ago, but I'm feeling nostralgic enough that I can't wait to see it. I'll probably have to wait till Monday though since I'll be at Nerd Superbowl all weekend.

The Simpsons has been around for such a long time, so of course it lost it's original appeal. That said, I'm so glad to see that the movie is looking as good as we all hoped.

Robert: totally agree with you on how the series over the years have been less entertaining. This movie is looking better, I scratched my head for awhile wondering what (or why was it) so necessary to make a Simpsons movie? I will see it and be back later to the community board and let you know.

...cheers brother...
