We thought all the acting was FLAT, and blame the dire tor, who always sets the pace and tone. Yes, Angelina;s heart was in the right place - bla bla bla. Boring and unmoving. They're trying to position it for an Oscar - no way.

I’m glad this movie does not depict in details the kidnapping and brutal murder of Daniel Pearl, instead it focuses on the suspense of the investigation and the humanity’s response to uncertainty.

Angelina Jolie does well as the wife of the murdered journalist.

I am kinda disappointed in how Hollywood portrays pregnant ladies lately, it doesn’t look convincing,.. in the movie ‘Knocked up’ and this one.. it seems like the mothes to be have skinny bodies and skinny arms but big ass belly.

We all know that pregnant wife would eat a lot and look bigger.

but anyway, back to the film.. ‘A Mighty Heart’ reminds you of how well the movie ‘Hotel Rwanda’ tells of the gruesome killings without having to show graphic images… the key is in the screenwriting.

In the end, it’s Oscar worthy, I suppose, but it’s not emotionally powerful enough.

Why couldn't they have gotten a latino or black woman to play this role. Minnie Pearl was a biracial woman. So many latina and black actreses are out of work and they choose a white actress to play this role.

Shame. I didn't think Jolie was the actress to do this. I read A Mighty Heart and I didn't think Jolie could pull this off.

Thanks for the review Sharon. I've been back and forth about seeing this movie and I think I'll definitely wait till DVD. One of the reasons being its not a subject matter I can get into this time of year; especially with a bunch of action movies lurking right around the corner.

Why release such a heavy HEAVY movie in the middle of fun fun summer? Who wants to go see a movie about a poor guy getting kidnapped and tortured? I think Hostel 2 proved that nobody wants to see that shit in summer:) Seriously though, this thing has fall release written all over it.

This movie bugs me for one reason: Angelina Jolie. She's an amazing, beautiful actress but the performance calls for something truly great and she screws it up. I never believed it was Marianne Pearl the entire time, I always believed it was Jolie. Great performances keep you intrigued in the film, always believing that there weren't actors on screen but CHARACTERS. Sadly, Jolie never made me believe in her as a character, she was merely an actress in this film. Her accent would go from French to American throughout the entire film. I hope she doesn't get nominated for the Best Actress oscar for this film. If her performance in Girl, Interrupted was a 10, then this one is a 5.5-6.
