Movie Blog Win Best Movie Site Award

In an off screen ceremony, MTV Movie Awards handed out their “Best Movie Website” award. To our total surprise, The Movie Blog took it. Dane Cook presented the award to me. Awesome!
Pirates 2 winning “Best Picture” just goes to show you that the awards themselves at the MTV Movie Awards mean absolutely nothing at all. What a joke.
Overall I had an amazing time here. The show itself was a little bit a a step down from previous years… but that can probably be chalked up to the fact that this was the first year that they’ve actually done it live. I’ll be putting up some video and pictures later tonight.
Oh… and obviously I was kidding about the award. :P

I fucking booed when Pirates 2 won. What a shitty movie.
And they might as well have called this the “Viacom owns Paramount and MTV so we’re gonna push Transformers down your throat and you can’t do shit about it” awards.
it was quite the transformers advertisement. cant blame them though.
and i actually thought srah did a good job, especially when she destroyed paris

Anyways, be prepared for a victory speech next year on the award of “Fan creating havoc over the Transformers premire.” Hopefully, the havoc part will be for joy instead of the torches and pitchforks being set up by fans in case the film sucks.

Hey John and everyone else… Is there a way that you can download the Livenow podcasts in mp3 format? i KNOW you can go to the NowLive website and listen to the most recent one… BUT, like the roundtable, can you download it and play it back whereever/whenever??? (John, i know you used to have a post listing EVERY podcast, now it just seems like you post/list the monday roundtables only…)
(I am usually working when the NowLive ones air and i used to ALWAYS download ‘em and listen to them on my iPod whenever i could… car, gym, etc.)

Yes you can there. On the show main page there are links to adding the RSS feed to a feeder. There is a choice between Itunes, google, yahoo, aol
I personally use google reader as its webased and logins automatically off my gmail cookie
then when i select a show i have the choice of streaming the podcast in the browser or if right click original audio source I can then choose save target as and thats what I do to download the actual mp3 file

i presonally think all award shows are meaningless but why are these awards the most meaningless?
if anything they are the most meaningful at least they are decided by the people who actually have to pay to these films – the public.
so the only awards that matter are ones decided by a bunch of elites who see everything for free???
fuck that…any award that is decided by people who have to pay to see the shit the shovelled out means more to me than some secret ballot no one really understands

I thought them movie awards this year were F***ing terrible. Sara is not funny and her jokes are so insulting. I was sooo shocked that they would let her humiliate people like that.What a pathetic show….None of the people that presented have any talent..oh well its only going to get worse…if that’s possible.
what was with Sarah Silverman taking the crap out of paris hilton. I would have loved to have been there to see it.
