It's incredible. And I wouldn't necessarily say there isn't a touch of sorcery. I would make the arguement that its almost like throwing the wisdom and teachings from star wars jedi about how the universe(force) works in a more Arabic folklore/ islamic christian way. But yes the general idea is to discover one's reason for being, or what the book calls, one's "Personal Legend". Read the book twice in the last week. It’s incredible. It's a good book - great book - but sadly, the theme is soley about following your dreams and self discovery. "Harry Potter meets Indiana Jones" is a horrible explanation. I would more say "MYST meets Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken" The novel smacks you in the face with a heavy hand (regarding the theme), and is dripping with thick overtones of God, love, fate and free will. Still, a good book. Sadly, there's no doubt this one will be shelled out, using the carcass to stand on, and leave the soul behind.
