The TV Show Blog Needs Writers

Posted by on 17. 05. 2007in News Chat

As some of you know, a little while ago we got “The TV Show Blog” off the ground. We’re now ready to start moving forward by adding new writers to the fold!

Think you’d like to be a beat writer about one of your favorite TV shows? Then let us know 3 shows you’d be willing to write about (We’re only going to get you to write about 1… but give us a list of 3 that you’d be cool writing about), tell us about why you like the shows you listed, and if you will be able to meet the following commitments:

1) To post at least 2x per week. 1 post about what you thought of the newest episode (or rerun that week) and then at least 1 more news story/editorial (although you’d be free to do 10x more if you wish.)

2) Commit to write for at least 3 months. With us just getting started, what we really don’t want is a quick rotating door of writers who come and go rapidly.

So there you have it guys. If you’re still interested, Email Rodney Brazeau and let him know. You can reach him at rodney@linkmedia.ca. We’re hoping to add 5 people to the site (but we may do more if we think it’s worth it).

Talk to you soon!

I threw my hat in the ring for Lost.

I’d love to but its kind of a bad time of year to start blogging on shows as all the good ones are ending for the summer break. I’m hard pressed to think of 1 let alone 3 unless you want to consider summer reality fair such as “So You Think You Can Dance”.

    Google to the rescue!

Here a link that details new and returning summer shows:

Flash Gordon is coming up in August on SCIFI; I’m looking forward to that one.

I never watched The 4400 but always liked the premise about those that were abducted by UFOs being returned to Earth. This picks up in June, enough time to catch up on the series via DVD or iTunes.

Lastly, I throw out Smallville which is airing it’s season finale tonight. One of my long time favorites heading into it’s last season.

Consider those my 3. Good luck guys and thanks for all the great times on the podcasts and live shows.

    Sean

    boobs to you all

Rafael: That doesn’t stop John ;)

I would of wanted to write about Jericho but CBS decided to cancel the show. When are the networks going to realize you can’t compete against American Idol.

  6. You know me; I like to write.

    1) “Law & Order” and its shows. That includes SVU and Criminal Intent. In the new fall lineup, NBC has put ‘Intent’ over to the USA Netwoork for the fall. Lots of stuff can be covered there. “Ripped From The Headlines”, the revolving door (Fred Thompson won’t be back next season, especially if he throws his hat in the Presidential race), and how I think the 5’11 Alena De La Garza could play Wonder Woman…anyway, this might also be nice to recap from time to time because L&O, SVU and CI all have old repeats in heavy rotations on USA and TNT. The primary focus should be on SVU, the more popular of the three.
I know- technically that is three shows; but I’ll count it as part of one big franchise.

The next two are known to be on networks fall lineups and which I feel (other than the ‘Heroes’ spinoff’) which will most likely be more talked about by fans:

    2) “Moonlight” -on CBS Fall lineup. I don’t know how well this will do, but from the sounds of it, I suspect if people loved that 90′s late night series ‘Forever Knight” they will watch this show. Major diff? Instead of a vampire cop, hero is a vampire PI. Probaly be fun to write on, get a cult following. It’ll be fun while it lasts.

    3) “The Dead Zone” – New shows in June on USA. [Season 6]. The series, starring Anthony Michael Hall, is of course, based off the Stephen King characters.

    Worthy of note/alternatives:

“The Sarah Connor Chronicles” – The Terminator spinoff will be watched with curiousity and anticipation. Yes, according to The Pilot, there will be Terminators involved. What hurts is that FOX has pushed this -and the 13 filmed episodes – into a “mid season replacement’. While that could also mean “Chronicles” could show up sooner should there be a FOX casualty, chances are we won’t see it right away. Darn.

“Shark”, the James Woods-Jeri Ryan series. I watch this show a lot. But the last few eps have sort of ran out of steam. I hope the new season is better – they are moving it to another night. I hate that. Darn.

  8. John Campea says:

Guys! not in here! Email Rodney! :)

  9. (next two) the third one was Sarah Connor.
    I also emailed Rodney.

Also next fall: Bionic Woman, the Caveman sitcom (Geico).
    And The Heroes spinoff.

  10. It’s cool that you’ve started a TV blog… I’ve often wondered whether I should have split Screen Rant into two separate blogs. I’d offer but I have enough difficulty finding time to write for my own site! :-)

  11. Ross says:

Yeah John just look out for an e-mail (tell Rodey this is HE doesn’t read this himself) from freakyfriend aka Ross Miller.

  12. bert belgium says:

I wouldn’t be of much use i guess, since i get all my good tv shows with a couple of days delay, since i have to download em all, all we get over here, is like fifteen different csi’s!

but my top pick would be:

    Lost
    Battlestar
    Heroes

  13. Oh crap how did I forget about Painkiller Jane?

  14. wispy says:

All the shows I would love to write about, are finishing or finished (24, supernatural, Jericho, lost) so I’m (unfortunately)going to have to give this a miss, if I’m mistaken about something email me at rmalhotra232@hotmail.com)

  15. mreposter says:

Anybody watching Blood Ties on (cough cough) Lifetime? It’s not half bad.

  16. Betsy Abbott says:

Hey, I sent you an email about wanting to blog for you, but nobody got back to me. What’s a girl got to do to get and email from you guys?
