JK Rowling says there May be an 8th Harry Potter Book

Harry Potter creator JK Rowling is among the richest women in the world effectively placing her worth near a BILLION US dollars. It is common knowledge that her 7th Harry Potter Book due out this summer is to be the final chapter of the series. And despite the fans drooling for more, she says is done.

But wait! There is an 8th book coming??? 24Dash.com reports:

The seventh novel, ‘The Deathly Hollows’, due out in the summer, will bring the young wizard’s adventures to an end, but Rowling has said she might write an eighth for charity.

The 41-year-old writer wrote on her website: “I might do an eighth book for charity – a kind of encyclopedia of the world, so that I could use all the extra material that’s not in the books.”

Well how is that for respectable?

She could fart these out in her sleep by now and cash in more money than the Vatican. She doesn’t need the money, and she could give some of hers away (which she admirably does anyways) but this way the fans get another taste of more Harry Potter stuff, and some charity gets permission to print money. I say good on her!

But really this isn’t an 8th book at all is it? She already has two books that were mentioned in the movies that she has created into sourcebooks of a kind for Potter fans. ‘Quidditch Through The Ages’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ are both in movie textbooks that you can also own. So this next book is just more background source material.

I would honestly like to see a prequel telling the whole story of Tom Riddle’s rise and the tale of James and Lily. They delve into it quite a bit in flashback mode in The HalfBlood Prince. But I would like to see that whole story fleshed out.

Well when she runs out of money, or Haley’s Comet comes by again, she might actually write that story.

  1. Sawyer, if you read the last novel, you would have seen the epilogue that pretty much lays out what happens to Harry.

That epilogue was put in place by JK to sabotage herself out of writing anything in that time frame.

JK is focusing on other works in an attempt to not just be known as “that Harry Potter writer”

  2. She should really write an 8th book. Not an enclylopedeia. But another story about potter. You know he never finished his seventh year. So maybe one where he goes back to hogwarts or maybe his job after hogwarts like an auror. To me Harry’s story isn’t over. It needs more. All we know is his childhood. What about his adlut life? So please M(r)s. Rowling please for all the fans write another book. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. OMG i hope there is an 8th book. But by the way before i read the latest book in the film evan almighty, when the mom n kids r in dat cafe on the tv screen in ther it says what happens at the end of the latest book about ginny n harry gettin married n havin kids!!!! how dare they i hadnt read it yet!!!!! lol

  4. I think an 8th book is great! An encyclopedia is ok, I guess. Ms. (Mrs, Miss?) Rowling really should write another book, because the whole Harry Potter series is really good to read and to watch (the movies, yeah)!

  5. I realy hope there is an 8th book. And if J.K Rowling wants to give the profits to charity I think that that is really good of her.So J.K Rowling you have my suport

  6. Blah…

There’s always “more in mind” when it comes to making money, and I highly doubt that all the money raised would just be for charity. She’s got enough to help out now, so if another book came out, do you really think she would invest time and energy into something she’s not benefiting financially from? Too hard to believe.

  7. Seven HP fantasy books are enough. I’d like to see what she could do with another genre – say mystery or horror. Imagine the book that topples Stephen King. I’d love to read that and, I daresay, so would he.

  8. Yeah, it’s pretty amazing how she’s a billionaire, which basically means she’s worth more than any single actor in the US, richer than Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, etc. etc.. And she’s probably richer than all of the directors, producers, actors of the Harry Potter movies.

  9. She’s been saying this for years.
Book readers fully expect this to happen at some point.
The only question is what charities will benefit.
