Swayze And Danning Team Up In Jump

syb.jpgRegular readers of this website are aware of my respect for Patrick Swayze. He needs to be in far more films, and today as I hunted to see what he had on the horizon I discovered his next project Jump. This film not only stars the Swayze but Sybil Danning! The team up of Sybil/Swayze is pretty much the best news ever. Sybil did a ton of exploitation films such as Chained Heat and Warrior Queen and will always have a place in my eternal 12 year old heart. We get the following Plot synopsis of Jump from IMDB:

JUMP is a psychological drama revealing for the first time the extraordinary circumstances behind the unjust murder trial of the young Jew, Philippe Halsman, who would later become the most sought after celebrity portrait photographer of his generation. Set in 1928 Austria during the rise of fascism, the story documents the corrupt relationship between Philippe and his father, the events leading to his father’s death, and focuses a sharp but delicate eye upon the anti-Semitic atmosphere that quickly led to Philippe’s conviction.

There you have it friends, an Austrian psychological thriller starring Patrick Swayze and Sybil Dannig. I am trying to find when it is going to be released on DVD but no word as of yet. From what I read on IMDB it looks like it was released in German theaters on Valentines day this year. Has anyone in Europe seen this film yet? German friends – did you spend valentines day with Swayze?

Sybil was in the Rob Zombie Grindhouse trailer, and appears to have a role in his upcoming Halloween remake as a nurse. Sybil is a B-Movie superhero and it is a delight to see her back in the saddle. Now I have to get my hands on this film ASAP.

  1. This doesn’t sound like a cheesy DTV film. Is Danning in a small role?
Anyway, I always loved the Roger Corman produced ‘Battle Beyond The Stars”…cable cult classic. Anyway, anything to get our memories of Syb breaking cherries and other forms of puberty in that classic scene from Howling II: Sister Is A Werewolf…or rather the endlessly repeated tit shot in the closing credits.
