It’s Official – Galactus Is In Fantastic Four 2

I really don’t think there’s been any doubt in anyone’s mind about the fact that Galactus was going to AT LEAST make an appearance of some sort in the new Fantastic Four movie after it was announced that The Silver Surfer was going to be in it. Add on top of that the fact that in the newest Fantastic Four 2 trailer you can hear Mr. Fantastic saying “Whenever this thing shows up (Silver Surfer) a planet dies”… gee whiz Batman… whoever could he have been talking about?
Well, for those of us who still weren’t sure, Director Tim Story has made it official. Our friends over at JoBlo give us this:
Tim Story confirmed today on his MySpace page that Galactus WILL be in FANTASTIC FOUR 2! He says, “One things for sure, you can expect to see [Galactus].” He adds, “we haven’t finished the design for him/it so be careful what you read and believe.”
Ok, I know Galactus is a cool comic book character… but I’m just not sold on the idea that they can put him on the big screen and not look totally stupid. I think it was a bad idea to bring him into a live action project. Oh well… we’ll just have to wait and see how their concepts turn out.
It is a nice hat though… blocks lots of sun.

i can’t wait to see pics of this guy, even though i’m not a huge galactus fan. if this wasn’t a comic book movie, i would think it was really hokey. but these marvel movies are really great b movies, some are better than others, but for the most part that’s what i think, good b movies.
They’re probably going with the ultimate Galactus in which he’s a group (I’m talking millions) of hive-minded robots that destroy planets. I’m gonna miss the purple sumbitch though.
I also think it’s gonna be the Ultimate Galactus, and I couldnt be happier.
I always thought the original Galactus was way too cheesy, even for a comic book character. He works for comics but in real life he would be ridiculous.
I love the Ultimate version. The millions of robots with the hive mind just works for me. I really, really, really hope that is the version they use. Story keeps saying “him/it” and I think if was the old version he would just say “him”.
I cant wait to see this flick.
In the comics, Galactus appears in different forms to different species. He only looks like a humanoid to humans.
I think the Ultimate Galactus is more plausible in live-action. It would be interesting if either we saw different incarnations of him as he appears to other beings, including the Kirby designs. Or, have the humanoid be kind of like the Borg Queen… seated on a throne in the middle of the hive.
I don’t think it’ll look stupid at all. Big 80 ft dude wearing boatloads of alien armor? Ha Ha Ha, very funny. Then he levels the city block with a wave of a hand and drains the life out of some forest somewhere, sucks all the water out of the Great Lakes…is he bad ass yet?
I’m lightly skeptical, John, but I thinkTim Story & co. can get away with it. Besdes, if it did look like a pile o’ cheddar, this *is* the Fantastic Four sequel, is it not?
