This only reenforces my belief that Halo should be a 3D animated feature. Oh well. Thanks to Mike for sending me this. I present to you… Halo 300 (This is bloody well done)

The only draw back of having a PS3 is not being able to explore HALO, since it’s only available on XBox, 360.

The video was fun to watch, well edited. An animated HALO movie could be cool, but a real motion picture could be cooler.

I’m still waiting for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to be made into a movie.

    Hey John,

    Any word on this one?

  2. John, I know you have 300 on the brain, but its Halo 3.

yeah an animated halo movie would be okay, but a real live action movie, would be 10x better….I’m a huge halo fan, read the books, played the games 1000 times, only concern is, i hope that when and if they do make a halo movie that the do it right and follow the books story line…..

  4. @spence

also, i cant view the clip at work but if it the Halo/300 clip im thinking of…then its clips of Halo Wars and Halo 3….

  5. Most of those clips are from Halo 2 cutscenes, some from Halo Wars and Halo 3. I definitely think if a Halo movie is never realized, an animated “Clone Wars” type of series could be done and be very cool. In fact, many folks, after the CGI Halo 3 commercial aired after Monday Night Football on 12/4, said a CGI Halo movie would be sweet. Ironically, the entire Spartan program in the Halo universe is based on the 300 Greek Spartans.

BTW, saw “300″ last Monday at a press screening and it was FANTASTIC.

I’m still waiting for Super Mario Returns.

  7. I really don’t know if this makes me more excited for “300″ or for “Halo 3″.

Or maybe I just want a Double Whopper with Cheese.

wow….that made me smile a lot….if they make a movie the should give it a starship troopers feel with the scope but make it serious and dark….give it a good balance of action and story….like the games….they guy did an excellent job syncing everything together…..

    peace….

Heh, awsome. Just the story of Halo 3 is going to rule alone, not much else of a reason why I even care about 360. The new Halo 3 trailer being set to the audio of the 300 trailer is a cool idea, they’re both almost as equal in epicness and quality. Though I have to admit I’m more looking forward to 300 then Halo 3 atm. ;p

Halo is one of the greatest Sci-Fi stories of the modern age. It more then diserves being made into a big budget film.

But I have to agree with John, it would work much better as a 3D animated film then live action. Most of the film will have to be all CGI anyway to look and feel right, why not go 100% CGI?

Whomever did this video clip should be nominated for best editing in next years Oscars! That was fantastic. And better than most movies out so far this year.

reinforces your belief it should be animated??
…imagine if all that was live action - that would be unreal

  14. FACE

if it were live action - the acting would be shit
    - the monsters would be unbelieveable
    - it would cost $900000000000000000

if it were all cgi - acting taken care of by good animators as are the monsters
    - and the cost, if i remeber giovanni from last year correctly, around $75 million

I have personnely read all 4 books and the hardback comic along with being a devoted halo gamer. Noted movies based off of games have never done very well in the movie market. I belive that halo would be the exception…if it was done right. I don’t believe you can sum up the entire world of halo in one movie, the story line is too in depth. And i just reviewed the cost on one of the movie blogs if they were to use live people it would cost 200 mil or more … thats a bit much besides they mentioned casting keanu reeves as the master chief…yea I’m a fan of his but I don’t see him pulling off a 200+ pound spartan. i believe cgi would be not only immensly cheaper but allow the characters to remain true and more relatable to the fans.
