Matthew McConaughey is Surfer Dude

Matthew McConaughey is an underrated actor. Yes, he’s appeared in some bad flicks, no debate there… but he, as a performer, is usually gold. Some people like to argue that… but those people are dumb. :)
Matthew’s newest project that he’s just signed up for is “Surfer Dude”. Oh man… what a stupid title. So what is Surfer Dude about? Well, here’s all Matthew’s website has to say about it:
Matthew’s next starring role will be as Steve Addington in Surfer, Dude — which is also a j.k. livin production. It starts production May 7, 2007. It’s about a surfer who loves to surf.
Whoaaa…. easy… information over load. But I’ll say this, even though I’m not the biggest fan of light romantic comedies… I usually end up enjoying the ones he is in (aside from Failure to Launch which just sucked). So maybe this one could be a winner. But man I hope they change that title.
As an aside… here are my 5 favorite Matthew McConaughey films:
1) Amistad
2) Frailty
3) A Time To Kill
4) EdTV (yes I liked this one)
5) How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

No, sorry, any list of favorite McConaughey movies that doesn’t include Dazed and Confused is objectively wrong.

Where is Dazed and Confused in this list? McConaughey’s performance as Wooderson is priceless.

I agree with Kevin. I think U571 and Reign of Fire are his best films.

I agree he is underrated….Wish he would steer clear of rom coms for a while although how to lose a guy in ten days is a very good romantic comedy – the leads have chemistry…the jokes are funny..the “obstacle” that all rom coms has to have is genuine if you go with the premise of the film. I don’t normally like kate hudson much but she is very funny in this film…
Has anyone seen music and lyrics?? you see I am a sucker for rom coms …. I like them when they are good and I thought form the trailer music and lyrics would be funny but dear lord……it was as if the writers had a book called romcom eriting for dummies and just slapped together a script from examples paraghraphs of a script text book….no chemistry between the leads and totally wasted a great premise – hugh grant is a faded 80′s pop star and the music video in the film is one hundred percent bang on but aside form that clip the film is terrible …
anyway..my point?

Been a fan of Matthew’s since A Time to Kill in 1996…and I loved We Are Marshall, Two for the Money, HTLAG, and Failure to Launch, just to name a few…
I liked him in Sahara….
