Breakin 3

BreakinOh my sweet GOD!!!! Ok, first I need to admit a deep dark secret of mine. I was once a break dancer (I’ll give you a moment to finish your laughing). So, obviously as a little kid I thought that Breakin and its sequel Breakin 2 were the greatest motion pictures of all time (I was 12… give me a break).

Anyway, it seems that they are indeed making a Breakin 3 to be entitled Break’n Revolution. All I know at this point is that the 3 lead characters are ALL GOING TO BE BACK! Lucinda Dickey (as “Special K”), Michael Chambers (as Turbo) and Adolfo Quinones (as Ozone). Man, just the names themselves are filled with delicious cheese!!!!

So I’m thinking (and this is all just speculation now on my part) that they’ll probably play older “old school” dancers who will take a new generation of break dancers under their wing and show them how it’s done. HAHA… I’m almost pissing myself this is so funny!

  1. i need this film in my life…
I read somewhere that its been cancelled. no mention of it on IMDB and theres always a mention of an upcoming film there. Apprently Michael chambers was blacklisted as he tried to steal the film. Could be total garbage but I havent heard anything credible in the four years since these rumours started!
They’re playing with my emotions man lol Im from UK and these films formed the 30+ man I am today. Arghhhhhhhhhh turbo Ozone I dont care if its crap…. just bring back that feel good factor one more time please!!!!!!!!

  2. man if they make a part 3 im there and to the guy who is 38 you is a fake cuz i was a young buck and i have no regrets i pop and locked i have no regrets im 31 and still pop and lock

  3. I too am the 80’s break dancing victim. We would spend hours on end playing and replaying Breakin and Breakin 2 and I must admit, that just recently I bought both of these vidoes online and watched them within the past 2 day. OH the memories it brought back.
What were we thinking……dance fighting. My husband who is 13 yrs. my senior was like “What are you watching” and I was like ” OH, you gotta STFU, they about to street dance fight!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Love it, gonna research to see if I can find the 3rd installment!!!!

  4. I loved both films and have since rented them out tens of times since released on dvd. I both movies when they came out and I am 42 years old this august 2008. I am crazy about turbo ability to pop lock. Some how I knew micheal jackson was using lots of his pop locking techniques. I think ozone is great to with his old school rerun type of dancing. i remember him in the appearance on whats happening when he played a member of a dance group rerun joined. special k is a very great jazz dancer and her ballet style is superior and she can flash dance like crazy.

  6. pop lockin and breakin were a huge part of early hip hop culture…people still break and pop lock alot of dances have evolved from that and are now very popular in urban culture such as memphis buckin and jukin…the guy that wrote this blog apparently is no longer involved in urban or hip hop culture and is speculating on something he knows nothing about…breakin1 and 2 were a little bit corny and poorly written but the dancing was awesome…and i cant wait for the third one to come out

  7. Breakin 3…WOW!!! I CAn’t Wait for this to PoP! I love Breakin. Breaker 4 Life! 10th and Vine…….Does anyone know if Van Damme will be a background dancer again?! HAhhaaha

  8. They have been talking about this now for two years. Please please please please please hurry the anticipation is freakin’ killing me!!!

  9. breakin 3 man i can’t wait, being a breaker from back in the day i knew it was just a matter a time that breakin and the culture would return……..gotta dust of my old moves and being a new yorker in’t in the blood…….see ya

  10. Has casting for thhis movie happened, has filming started. My 8 year old daughter watches that movie faithfully after homework everyday. If there is a way to audition I will have her there. She is currently dancing for THE STAR FACTORY here in the Detroit, Mi.

  11. Hell Yes,

Why not. Currently PhysicX is the best Breaker out there.

Anyway, I used to break, specialising in Windmills and headspins for a crew and it was so different, so cool……

Breaking is very much alive still, it’s changed a little but check out PhysicX and Korea 2006 for breaking.

You will be amazed. Even Crazy Legs is still going strong as is Rock Steady Crew…………

    Storm…………….

  12. haha!!! i JUST finished watching a video of michael chambers (turbo) on youtube in which he confirms that there is a breakin 3 script finished & that auditions will be happening soon for some dancers in the film. it’s about a young kid that wants to be the best bboy & must find turbo to get his advice & such forth, kind of like the mr. miagi of breakin!!!

  13. dunno who breakbeatman83 is but its likely it may be someone i used to know breakin` 3 would be cool but its unlikey that it willever happen as far as lucinda dickey is concerned she is not living in england and never was thats just bull i have corresponded with adolpho quinones a new film is pure speculation

  14. word!
Breakin was fresh back in the dayz, but lot of another movie as well…
Breakin 2 electric boogaloos went on some soft production but it s good
Those dayz was something to remember…
    peace!
    boogie rock *my street name*
    ps.by the way i m 36 yearz old..
    peace to the all b/boyz…

  15. Lucinda Dickey couldnt act her way out a wet paper bag never mind reprise the role in another Breakin Movie. Anyway she is too fucked up in the head since living in England for years to ever appear in another movie of any kind.

  16. HEY ANYBODY WITH ANY DATES IN THE FUTURE FOR SHOWINGS,ETC, LET ME KNOW. WHEN I HEARD THAT A BREAKIN 3 WOULD BE IN THE WORKS, I ALMOST CRIED. MAN, THESE MOVIES ARE MY ALL TIME FAVES!

  17. yo, i’m 34 and in the army deployed over seas. breakin as a movie was alright back in the day. i only like it for the bboy scenes. as for breakin 2, it sucked.
btw i still break (bboy) dance.

  18. Turbo was just here in Charlotte NC, hosting some b-boy contest. I almost flipped out at work…but I calmed before there was firing. He’s the master. He was Scat Cat in that Paula Abdul’s video. Plus he choreographed Michael Jackson for years….yet played the second bandanna in these movies. I AM SO THERE. Anyone who wants me to start a rally for this movie on my web site, email me at [email protected] and I’ll start a page!

  19. kelly was my dream girl…i guess in a way she still is.
if what is being said is true then along with all former breakers i too will be seeing this 3rd installment.
if for no other reason than to see some more of the electric pink, green & yellow clothing….oh and to have another perve on kelly!!!!!!!

  20. I’m afraid for this film. From things that I’ve read, sounds like one of the producers, is gonna have the newest kids on the Bilboard charts starring in it. I grew up with both 1 & 2, and really believe this guy is gonna mess things up. I hope the OG’s that starred in the original, and know the movement not let this happen.

  21. I’m 38 now. Back in those days I used to breakdance. I cannot believe I did that crap when I was a kid. And the music, sugar hill, afrika bambata, roxanne shante, soul sonic force and yada yada yada. Card board boxes taped together and doing back spinsand head spins and moon walks. Holy crap. I’m so embarassed. Boom boxes and stupid adidas jump suits and gay bandanas and sneakers with the fat shoe-laces and different colors and the le-tigre t.shirts and lee jeans with the pin-strips. What a lousy childhood. Tacky sub-culture. The life of a street wise kid.

  22. Keep talkin, People. All these self-incriminations are going into a nation database somewhere. This is some subversive sh*t!

On the other hand, if we deny ourselves breakdancing, the terrorists have won…

  23. My mother took my sister & I to see both Breakin’ films when we were kids. The most talked movie moment in the hood at that time was Turbo break dancing on the ceiling. That sh%t was hot back then.

  24. Breakin’ was good at the time (HORRIBLE now though, after a DVD viewing). “Electric Bugaloo” was horrible at the time, however.

Now, Beat Street – that was the shit! And still is.

If they approach this part 3 shite with tongue-in-cheek and throw in the some crazy street dancing, it could be fun.

  25. Jesus wept – if you and Dougie do a break dancing routing for the movie blog fans then I reckon you could turn this into a paysite coz I’d pay a subscription – Priceless!

  26. LOL, I could never breakdance so I became “the DJ” of the group we had. It was called, “14 Karat Gold…..” Ok, give me a break. I was 14 for goodness sakes.

  27. Ummmm…Michael Chambers(Turbo) lives in my hood in Cali. and he’s a crackhead now. Unless they sober the dude up then I guess he’s in! The crackhead thing is no joke by the way he’s really f’ed up.

    1. I would love to speak with Ozone as an 80’s child and someone who loves the movies Breakin 1 and 2. Finding faith is an absolute necessity, there is no reason for him to be wrecking his life. There is a future for him but he has to choose life not death through drugs. There are many people who love the 80’s and would love to hear his experiences and what he could teach people about his experiences. My email address is [email protected]

  28. Adolfo Quinones is also the writer of Breakin’ 3; it’s possible he remained friends with his Breakin’ pals. Mostly, he’s ‘not’ an actor, but a dance cheographer. His biggest gigs were working with Madonna on her tours in the late 90’s.

While there were several breakdance/hip hop films in the early 80’s, the Golan-Globus Cannon films got there pretty much first, stealing heat from films like “Beat Street” and “Wild Style”. The acting in the Breakin’ films wasn’t great, but there was a message regarding prejudice and stereotypes, more than the other films. While the first film had the trio try out to get an off broadway dance review…the second film in my mind was slightly more better. In that, the trio had to raise money to stop the bulldozers to not rip down the inner city rec center; in addition, the film was more on a dance/musical tone. Both films had fantasy dance sequences, (when a character moonwalks on the side of a wall, for example) and were PG fun.

Could a new film be successful? It could be done on an indie level, may not cost much, and while it’s neat to have the three leads back, I wouldn’t mind a cameo from Chris “Quiz Show” McDonald (from the first film) but who they mut have is Ice-T. Yes, Ice-T as himself, introducing a new rapper or something.

You cannot have a Breakin’ movie and NOT have Ice T.

  29. As cheesy as this sounds I am SO there, no matter how bad it might be, I will go see it. My brother and I LOVED these movies when we were kids. Of course now they’re just fun to watch and giggle at, so a new one….add it to the list!

  30. For the record we were all either little breakers our selves or wished were were.

Just a bit of me and Breakin linked. Breakin 2 was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. Sweet, huh?

The movie will obviously be a complete flop, box office wise, but what a slice of beautiful nostalga.
