My first exposure to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force show were the two episodes with the Monnanites. I watched those stupid shows about 30 times in a single day and I laughed harded each time I watched it. Some of the lines from those episodes were just killer. The rest of the episodes were pretty good, but nothing compared to those first two that I saw.
Then came word of an Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie… some people got really excited… and then word came out that test audieneces hated it. Not so good. As a matter of fact, there were some rumours floating around that Aqua Teen Hunger Force the Movie was being relegated to a direct to DVD fate. Ouch.
But the reality is this movie is being made too late. The time to strike with an Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie was 3 years ago… not now when it’s lost most of it’s considerable steam. But that’s just my opinion. But as the good folks over at Film Junk tell us, the news of the direct to dvd fate of Aqua Teen Hunger Force The Movie may have been changed:
Well now some teaser footage from the film has gone up on the Adult Swim website. It’s not really anything special… I mean, it looks no different than any other episode of the TV show. But at least it seems to verify that they’re still going through with this thing (the website tentatively promises “In Theaters At Some Point in 2007?).
So it’s going to be in theaters after all? Or at least they’re hoping it will be. I’ll still put my money on this going right to home video.

Been an ATHF fan for years and I’ve been waiting for this movie for years, lol. They announced it a looonnng time ago and I’m glad it no longer just seems like a huge rumor and that the creators didn’t give up on the idea like I thought they might have, snice it’s been so long to make.
You should see the longer version of this trailer though. Master Shake kicks that evil poodle’s ass!! ;p Can’t freakin’ wait for this thing to come out…
i agree john the mooninites are the best characters on the show besides carl, but this movie looks weird even by ATHF standards. the new episodes aren’t even all that funny. handbanana made me laugh alot tho

Well, I actually caught this when they showed it at ComicCon back in July. They cut out probably a minute’s worth of stuff that they showed in the movie, where Shake and Meatwad argued over what was wrong with the jeep as Frylock fought off the poodle. The giant poodle. There was something that happened at the end of the trailer that I won’t ruin for ya.
I dunno, ATHF had its good moments, but I haven’t caught any of the new episodes as of late. I’ll have to wait and see them now. As for the movie, I dunno, I haven’t been all excited about it as much. I think there should be a Venture Bros. movie before all else, really.
Test audiences are usually comprised of 50 year old ladies with no sense of humor.
South Park’s first episode tested badly too, but Comedy Central knew it was funny and went ahead with it anyways.
