I’m not sure what to make of the ‘Dirty Rotten Scounders’ remake. I already consider it one of the funniest films of all time.
Steve Martin’s ‘Ruprect’ almost had me piss my pants, it was so funny.
It truly is an underrated classic.

The Tolkien franchise is a big generator. A couple of Hobbit films released a year apart at Christmas like the LOTR films adds stability to MGM/New Line’s stock. If they can come to an agreement with Jackson it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he cleared his calendar for The Hobbit. A franchise that bankable changes a lot of the rules.

A remake of the fabulously funny Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is an awful idea.

I say the possibility of seeing a Hobbit film soon is slim. Though it would be nice if they could get the ball rolling.

The Hobbit will happen sometime but I think with Peter Jackson wrapped up for at least the next couple of years, it’s not going to be anytime soon.

MGM either has the rights or they don’t.
I don’t see “Hobbit” happening anytime soon.
In fact, “Thomas Crown” will be out before “Hobbit”.
A remake of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”? Hmmm…no intrest there.
(I’d rather have “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Twenty Years Later”)
