Scarlett Johansson gets Kidnapped

Scarlett Johansson is one of those actresses that just cannot seem to do anything wrong. Shes stunning, infectiously loveable, and a fine actress to boot. She’s never at the bad end of the publicity machine.

Cinematical gets a look at a project this golden girl is considering:

Scarlett Johansson, as she’s considered to be “in the lead” to play Natascha Kampusch, an 18-year-old Austrian girl who last month escaped her kidnapper after 8 years of imprisonment.

There is a lot of human interest in this project and its a very serious role. I have all confidence that Scarlett could do a role like this. I am dying to see her show the world that there is nothing she cannot do. (and hoping she doesnt prove me wrong!)

The Cinematical guy seems to think shes not ready for the “suffering dramatic role” and I couldnt disagree more. This is one star who hasn’t even started to shine and shes already a superstar.

Aside from being Ungodly attractive, I have yet to see Scarlette in a role that she didnt do well. I am not a big fan of dramatic stories like this, but I will see it if Scarlett is in it.

hmm have a hard time seeing scarlett in this. Unless they are just gonna focus on the last two months or something in the movie, i’d be pretty hard to tell this story also as it, according what I read, is a kinda sick twisted stockholm syndrome induced lovestory. and most of the interesting stuff happened slowly over time.

And to note to this is a very sick perverted thing doing a movie about this, the girl has already made like 10$ mil of her interviews and free university and living and all that, so the only reason to make a movie out of this is for some money greeding frackers to use this as a money making scam.

This is the one as the ‘sex slave’ as well as ‘homemaker slave,’ right? While I’d love to see Scarlett in (or out of) anything, I can’t see her in this project. This’ll most likely end up as a cult flick.

In the right hands, this could make a pretty good film. I guess the only way to do it would be to have Scarlett as the eighteen year-old Kampusch, with another, younger actress to show the actual kidnapping. She can play 18, but 10′s a bit of stretch. Flashbacks, maybe?

She’s a talented girl, and one of the least ugly people I’ve ever seen, so this could be good.

On a related note, I saw The Island a few weeks back, and it wasn’t shit. All I can remember about it, though, is that Scarlett Johansson is really, really, really, not ugly at all. I mean, really…

Um, I’ll be in my bunk.

Oh, please! We do not need a movie about this incident, Scarlett or not. Surely, there are better projects in the works than this!

I just started really reading about this last night and man… people are sick.
Did anyone see the google video of the “room” he kept her in? Seeing it exactly the way she left it after eight years in there was really creepy. The little award ribbons she made for herself (or he made for her) the decorations, the clothes and stuff… poor girl.
But according to the interviewers, psychologists and media types she is doing rather well for someone who had lived the way she lived. Very strong willed girl indeed. Very resilient. Has a lot of sympathy for the kidnapper who killed himself. Like Poppe said… Stockholm Syndrome. But it’s understandable having spent 8 years with him and him being the only human contact you had. Going through puberty with this man… its understandable. Sad, sick and twisted or him but understandable for her.

As far as Scarlett goes, I think she is a good choice for the role. I definitly think she can handle the job. Obviously flashbacks would be called for, either that or the first half of the movie would be told with a different actress… I could see either avenue working.

If you (anyone out there) havent read her letter, you should.

Hmm, I don’t really think there needs to be a movie about this. We need a fun movie with Scarlett sex scenes. No depressing stuff, please.

  7. Kevin says:

    She is just wicked hot

  8. themarina says:

I guess you haven’t seen “The Black Dahlia”. She’s still beautiful but less than stellar. As for this particular role, I think she has the skill to pull it off but it seems a bit creepy that a movie is in the works already.

  9. Stuart says:

I doubt this will get past the “idea” phase and if it does it will probably end up as a sleazy DTV movie starring Misty Mundae or something.

Any serious actress would give a lasivious and ambulance chasing project like this a wide berth.

  10. wolf says:

Jesus for a second I thought she really got kidnapped until I read this post.

I would love if she got this part. Scarlett is one of the most talented actresses out there, she would do a fantastic job.

  11. Jay says:

    Misty Mundae rules!

  12. Alfredo says:

I haved loved Scarlett Johansson since Ghost World. If I could get away with it I would kidnap and chain her under my bed.;)

    Yo Rodney:

(Sorry, but I gotta be a stickler)

In your thread, you state: “The Cinematical guy seems to think shes ready for the “suffering dramatic role” and I couldnt disagree more. This is one star who hasn’t even started to shine and shes already a superstar.”

So, what you’re saying is, you don’t think she’s ready for this role? I just wanna make sure I’m reading it right.

  14. Rodney says:

Sorry, that was a typo. I fixed it.

Cinematical guy thinks shes NOT ready.

    Hope that clears things up.
