Superman Returns Sequel Shooting in 2007
Looks like the studio is pretty confident on a massive hit for Superman Returns. So much so that word on the street is that they’re gearing up to actually start shooting a Superman Returns 2 in late 2007. That’s not a ton of time for all the pre-production on a project this scale.
The good folks over at Superhero Hype give us the following:
Bryan Singer may not direct the remake of “Logan’s Run” after all. Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver want to start lensing the sci-fi pic this fall, which would mean Singer might end up shooting two tentpoles — “Logan’s” and a “Superman Returns” sequel — back-to-back. No one begrudges Singer for seeking a break from big-budget projects, although the filmmaker probably won’t make an official decision either way about “Logan’s Run” until “Superman Returns” bows in July.
Apparently Singer has had a total blast working on Superman and doesn’t want to leave the franchise just yet. It also said in the article that he may just serve on Logan’s Run as a producer and hand the directors duties off to someone else like V for Vendetta director James McTeigue.
Mark my words… Superman Returns is going to rock. (Special thanks to Ram for the heads up)
Agreed. Superman shall kick large ass. I shall be there opening day. I like that he will be making the Superman sequel his main priority, I mean besides a big budget film like Logan’s Run. Good news good news.
That’s two movies I’ve been really looking forward to that have been bumped for superhero flicks. First John Carter Of Mars (Civil War soldier fighting Martians for the love of a princess) was delayed so Favreau could make Iron Man (another superhero movie, except he’s drunk this time), now Singer’s looking to draft in some other random dude to shoot Logan’s Run so he can do another Superman movie. That’ll make 6 Superman films in total, not including Smallville or Supergirl (hot!). Don’t you ever want something a bit different?

I didn’t grow up with Superman and to be honest, though the movie looks great, I’m not totally crazy about it. On the other hand, “Logan’s Run” is one of my faves of the past and I can’t wait to see it on the big screen. I guess I might have to wait longer than originally anticipated!
I’m glad to hear the sequel will start late 2007. Superman Returns is going to kick so much ass when it opens. Everything about this movie is exciting, but thanks to Doug I’m now starting to hate that bastard kid.
Please God, don’t let him be anything like the kid in The Mummy Returns.
I’m surprised that WB isn’t already working on the sequel.
Man, is WB overconfident on this picture. But if you are going to throw 250 mil at it, you might as well mothball sets and keep your principal actors happy. If Superman…Six…(?) films in mid to late 2007, what’s the problem? Have Logan’s Run lense this fall.
If James McTeigue takes over Logan’s, then his idea of following V4V with Watchmen is on hold.
I’m Surprise they haven’t brought in the Death of Superman movie yet. Nicholas Cage was to star in it in 1998, but it got cancelled. I really think that this should have been the movie that he died in (Rumors are he does). Hopefully this sequel will finally do that for me.
what will the superman sequel be about:
1. what will happen to jason?
2. to the 6 crystals?
3. to the kryptonite landmass?
4. to lex luthor?
5. to jimmy olsen?
6. does jimmy already know who superman is?
7. did martha’s comment that clark may not be alone in the universe give us a clue?
8. does kryptonite trigger jason’s powers?
9. will supergirl appear in the sequel as her destroyed 2-ringed saturn like planet was shown during the initial credits?
10. won’t superman and his son be able to bond because of this kryptonite source of strength?
11. is jimmy olsen secretly in love with superman?
did anyone notice the little gay characters in the toy city set of lex luthor?
in the same miniature city set, did anyone notice the small fallen signage where “smallville” was written?
did anyone recognize the original 50s tv series lois lane as gertrude?
the original jimmy olsen as the bartender?
I heard that the sequal to superman returns is going to feature darkside as the villian?Any truth to this??
Mr. Singer. Please, don’t GENERAL ZOD again. Don’t remake the sequel.
i think the sequel has to address the things from this movies such as how much of jason is human/kryptonian… i.e lex shoved kryptonite almost up his nose but he didnt seem to be affected is that a permanent thing which means he is indestructable or just that he will have other weeknesses…
louis has to find out the truth,shes got his son surley he cant keep his identity from her now it wouldnt be good parenting of him…
as for a villain i dont think that any of the bad guys from the comics or anywhere else would be right i feel it should be a moral dilema maybe he finds that there are other kryptonian survivors out there and they demand that he leaves earth and joins them…
he was told by his father that it is forbidden to interfere with human history etc… so the only true way to do that is to leave… and that would bring about the problem of his half human son… would never be accepted on a new krypton so would have to be left behind,and have his powers taken by superman before he left as ordered by the new krypton council which kalel must join to represent the house of ell…
key end sequence would be great…
superman now dressed in the same silver/white robes his father donned in the first film saying goodbye to louis,jimmy and placing his son in a crystal chamber to remove his powers… red flashes lights and out emerges his son hugs his father and says goodbye…
superman flys off to join his people…
next scene would see louis asking her son if he will be ok as he looks out of his bedroom window…(we now see he is older almost 18/19) he replies i will be,i guess… louis then leaves the room and jason stands and stares out in to the distance where he sees a small green light glint in the distance…
climbs down the drainpipe and walks out into the garden near the waters edge he bends down and picks up a kryptonian enrgy krystal the same as the one jor el sent to earth with his father…
cue the music…. drum role
jason walks back to the house and as he aproaches the drainpipe where he must climb to gain access to his room,the crystal erupts in a massive white light and a vision of kalel saying now u must view my life through your eyes as i will view yours through mine,the son becomes the father and the father becomes the son….
the crystal has gone … jason turns and begins to run toward the water… as he reaches the edge (now with music in full flow) he rips open his shirt to reveal the fantastic S and takes flight as his destiny had always intended…
kal el of krypton may have gone home but SUPERMAN never left home….
if that doesnt stir you your dead watch somethin else lol

WE DONT WANT MORALE DILEMAS, AMERICA IS STUPID WE WANT ACTION AND ACTION ALONE PEOPLE. BRING ON SUPERVILLIANS LIKE APOCALYPSE OR BIZZARO YEA….BIZZARO WOULD BE SWEET SO WOULD APOCALYPSE THOUGH, ANYWAY WE WANT A HUGE SWEET BATTLE BETWEEN TWO SUPER PEOPLE WITH TONS OF EXPLOSIONS AND ACTION THATS ALL WE REALLY WANT IS AN ENTERTAINING MOVIE(like Superman Returns was good and all but it was boring in the long run) O AND NO LEX LUTHOR ( MAYBE JUST A SMALL ROLE) I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT IM SO TIRED OF THEM JUST DOING LUTHOR.

I Think That sense lois is not with superman then bring the person who he loved when he was five years old back which is lana and give that a chance cause lois and superman not clark is old.Smallville is loved alot cause of lana and clark and down the road they should meet up again in this sequel and spend quality time together before he dies he is getting old just like her
The sequal should be a villain killing the kid. This would show superman’s human side and going off into a blind rage. this would be a huge fight scene that could be one of the all time best. the supporting characters could all show sadness but show triumph in the end like everyone likes. lex could also emerge through the movie from the island to back on top ready to challenge superman again. it’s not that hard to do. these movies try to hard to do crazy love me storylines and end up putting out a bad version of what they are trying to say
