Fraggle Rock: The Movie
“Dance your cares away (clap clap)“. Oh man I just love that tune, and I guess we’re are indeed going to be hearing a lot more of it. Back in September we reported that there were whispers of a Fraggle Rock movie in the works. Turns out those rumours were bang on.
The good folks over at Cinematical give us the following:
Fraggle Rock, though already announced and definitely coming, is still in very early stages. It is the number two priority right now, but a script is being written. Henson said to consider the movie something of a “revisiting” of the classic characters, updated slightly to reflect the change in time. The characters we all know and love will remain the same — but the story will likely not be a direct sequel to the old series. Henson indicated the plan is “to do something that sort of stands next to Fraggle Rock rather than [being] a continuation of [it].”
As long as they don’t pull a “Transformers the Animated Movie” and kill off all the classic Fraggles in the first 10 minutes so they can introduce a whole new Fraggle toy line.
Wait a minute… come to think of it… that might be pretty fun! Imagine the following:
The normally friendly Trash Heap gets high of 5 keys of coke that gets dumped in the trash so the cops won’t find it. She then goes on a murderous rampage ripping the heads of Fraggles as she goes. Yeah… sign me up.

I LOVED Fraggle Rock as a kid, and can’t wait for this.
