Johnny Knoxville is The Ringer

Chalk another one up for B.P II, The Ringer staring Johnny Knoxville opens in theaters on December 23rd and thanks to Freeze Dried Movies we can take a look at the official movie poster and the teaser is available on Apple Trailers.

When Steve Barker (Johnny Knoxville) finds himself running dead last in the corporate rat race, he sinks to an all time low…he attempts to rig the Special Olympics by pretending to be intellectually challenged. But, Barker is completely out-classed by his fellow Olympians, who are not only better athletes; they’re just plain better people. And they’re on to him. But rather than rat-out the rat, they join forces with him to once and for all beat Jimmy, the cocky reigning champion of the annual games. With a work-out regime uniquely their own, they train Barker to go for the gold and, in the process, show him what’s at the heart of a true winner.

To be honest, this doesn’t look all that appealing. It could be pretty entertaining if you find a hour and forty minuets of retard jokes funny. It does star Scottish actor Brian Cox (X2) who is a welcome familar face in the movie of newbies.

Check out the teaser and let us know your thoughts.

  1. Hey gang, I agree with you on this. I see this movie as being a big steaming pile of foder. You have to understand though, due to my outrageous statement I figured the least I could do is beat this like a dead horse.

  2. Brad, seriously, dude–give it up. This obsession is really starting to get creepy. THE RINGER has been sitting on the shelf at Fox for quite a while. They don’t know what to do with it, and Knoxville is apparently awful in it.

  3. That script has been bounced around Hollywood for at least 5 years now, and has had other Oscar worthy actors attached as well, including Martin Lawrence. I don’t really think you want to use this as ‘proof’ that your Knoxville is the next Brad Pitt theory has merit.

It’s kind of tough to be taken seriously as an actor when you all you star in is shlock like this.
