Bloodsport 2

BloodsportPoster.jpgI still remember the first time I saw Bloodsport. I saw it on a Saturday afternoon matinee on a sunny day with my girlfriend at the time Cheryl and it was at the Centre Mall Cinemas. I remember all this because at the time I thought it was the greatest film of all time (hey… I was young and stupid).

Whispers have been going around of a film project that Jean-Claude Van Damme was trying to get off the ground called “Kumite” that was almost exactly the same as Bloodsport. This has proved difficult, so apparently Van Damme has decided to just do a sequel to Bloodsport instead. The good folks over at MovieHole give us this:

“Bloodsport : A New Beginning”, to be penned by the original scribe Sheldon Leitch, is expected to go before the cameras next year. According to a source, it will bring the “Bloodsport concept into the 21st Century in a way you can hardly imagine”.

The original film actually spawned three sequels, but they had little to do with the original film and were released straight to video. Daniel Bernhardt starred in all three films.

YeeeHaaaa! I actually like Van Damme in action films. yeah the guy can’t act to save his life… but man the dude has some great moves… and like a lot of other children of the 80’s, I’ve just become comfortable with him in those cheesy films. So rock on!

  1. If you like the game Street Fighter never ever ever see the movie. It is the exact reason games should not be made into movies. I cannot emphasise enough how bad this movie is. I say again do not see this movie.
