Audio Edition – Sepember 29th 2005

Greetings! And welcome to The Audio Edition!

On today’s show Doug and I discuss the AFI all time greatest movie scores… and how important a score is to a film, what the music can do to us and how it makes movies more memorable. Also we review Corpse Bride and Flightplan. Speaking of Flightplan, we look at the situation brewing where the Association of Flight Attendants is calling for a stupid boycott of the movie. How dumb. Add on top of that the issue of the 8 guys charged criminally for putting a copy of Revenge of the Sith up online the day before the film even hit the theaters and you’ve got one full show!

DO NOT READ AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE FLIGHT PLAN!!!!

What do you mean flight attendant’s aren’t portrayed porly in the film? Yes, of course behind the curtain they badmouth the customers. I was a server and bartender and know al about that…

But, the main stewardess or flight attendant in the film was also in on the kidnapping of the kid. I think this was what they were screaming about. She was a “bad guy” and helped steal a child and threatened to blow up a plane for money.

Having said that, I still agree with you guys 100%. It’s a movie! Nobody is going to distrust flight attendant’s in a 9/11 situation because they saw flight plan. It’s the most ridiculous item of the day.

  2. 1. Doug – RURA PENTHE…we must attend a high class social event with our matching federation belt buckles.

    2. Although i will never defend Metallica’s stance on Napster, i must defend the film Some Kind of Monster. It was directed by arguably two of the best modern documentary filmmakers, and although it didn’t bring in much money ($1,222,708 Domestic), it has to be noted that most documentaries in general don’t make much money. In the top ten highest grossing documentaries of all time, Roger and Me comes in at number ten at just over six million dollars. Even the huge hit Supersize Me grossed only $11,536,423, which would be a massive failure by the standards of a fictional film. Also, Some Kind of Monster was only released on a total of 147 screens. But numbers aside, the film stands on it’s own as a very entertaining and engrossing film for the metallica fan or non-fan. Critically acclaimed and a great film. One of my favourite films of last year.

  3. Awwwwwwwwww John!!!!! The background music!!!! I am guessing that’s your idea????
