The Video Edition Vol. 2

VidEdition.jpgHey there Folks! Well here is the second installment of The Video Edition. I’ve taken some of your suggestions and implemented them here. as I mentioned in the Audio Edition Post (below) The Video Edition will be used for our MOVIE REVIEWS… while the Audio Edition will remain the forum for us to talk about this weeks MOVIE NEWS.

So, having said that, this week on The Video Edition Doug and I review The Island and the Bad News Bears remake. Also, this week we feature www.twitchfilm.com as our Web Reference.

So sit back, relax and enjoy. Total running time is 17 minutes. You can view the Video Edition here.

  1. Hi Guys,

I just watched your video edition of The Movie Blog which I thought was pretty cool. There was one thing which did strike me a something you could replace or fix…get head piece to speak into instead of those lolly-pop mic’s. Other than that, great show.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

  2. LOL @ lizardfreak12. I am a nurse and not the least offended, Really. ;-)

What lizardfreak just said above has got to be one of the best comments I have heard so far about this site. I say to anyone who do not like the Video Editions, dont download it, and just wait for the Audio Editions which will still be provided for, if it didnt do anything for you, fine, but for those of us who liked it, we had a great time. I also think that both John and Doug are going out of their way to provide us here with quality entertainment, and well done for that guys. Heck, I just download it now just to listen to them two do their bantering! LOL

  3. Anonymouse, people work hard all day, come home and have the right to do whatever the hell they want and try to let loose and enjoy being entertained. I get on these blogs at work on breaks and watch televison every now and then for news and good programs.

ANYWAYS, the point is that their are people out there to create things fans want and need, and thats what the good people who run the movie blog do, they provide us with reviews and give us the freedom to comment on them. This site has fun things to offer and people no matter how dumb can comment. #1 in film news, and reviews, the audio editions are great, and with the exception of you, we were all blown away by the Video Edition ya ass.

And who cares about the dorks in front of the computers all day, they are enjoying the world, benefit lazy, but, it’s not our problem.

You just don’t understand movies or reviews, or more over this site in general. There are people who get it, and others who are just too damn ignorant and hot headed to even begin the process of getting it.

To comment on the Video Edition as it stands now, I say PERFECT!

THIS SITE ROCKS!!!!! THE VIDEO EDITION ROCKS, AND LIKE A HOT NURSE AT A SPERM BANK, KEEP THEM COMING!!!!!!………. that probably wasn’t the best way to deliver that, sorry.

  4. again entertaining! constructive thoughts:

    * 15 minutes – PERFECT

    * you spend 5 minutes talking about the flick, you don’t need to reiterate pros and cons on the graphic. i’d prefer to see the graphic at the end of the episode as a quick rap up. also, the .5’s seem a bit tight on a scale from 1-10.

    * i’d rather hear you guys banter more then doing something else with the middle segment. (propping other sites, etc).

again – nice stuff fellaz! just some quick thoughts.

  5. Now that’s more like it…John and Doug letting their hair down. ;-)

Hey thanks for just wearing casual clothes, you look really great guys. Very natural eh?

  6. I still dont get it. Whats the purpose of the video edition? Im under the assumption that most people listen to the movie blog “on the go”. Do that many people really sit in front of their computers so they can listen to a movie review while having movie clips pop up every few seconds? It just seems that this whole experiment is taking some of the best stuff from the audio edition just to satisfy computer dorks who sit in front of a computer screen all day.

Id rather see 1 audio edition with high quality than a seperate video/audio edition with low quality.

  7. I really like the audio edition and I think I will enjoy the video edition too, but as a Mac user I have to ask: Why not Quicktime? Windows Media Player sucks in Mac computers! But that is fine, I really like your show and I waiting for it to join the podcast´s list in itunes.

  8. Again I thought this was pretty great.

Is it always going to be this short? Maybe I am the only one, but I was hoping to see more than just two movie reviews. My attention span is short, but it is not that short. Maybe three reviews? Anyone?

  9. Liking it again also. Interesting, the change from yakking in general to pure review-style yakking. Basically, I just enjoy hearing you guys yak and ramble. The bits that I *didn’t* like were (again) the web reference thing in the middle (too flat), and the voice-over summary at the end of each review. My reason for that is, I already know what you thought of the movie: you just told me. If you wanted to say something more, why didn’t you say it in the main section? The fun of the audio and video editions lies in the spontaneity of your conversation. Splicing in edited afterthoughs breaks up the flow, and makes it feel like you’re *trying too hard*. Give your marks out of ten, and move on.

(The post-segment summary is a trick to use on an audience of which a certain percentage will have the attention span of a goldfish on crack. You’ve got to figure that the average Joe taking the time to grab and play the Video Edition actually *wants* to watch it, and will devote enough of their concentration to it to figure out that you didn’t just spend ten minutes deconstructing Tomb Raider 2. Also, you’re not going to have people tuning in half-way through, to whom you have to give a compelling reason for tuning in to the re-run to see what they missed. Let go of the crutches TV has developed for itself. You don’t need them!)

If that sounded too negative, my apologies. I try for constructive criticism, but sometimes I miss :-) I really do like the show.

  10. I disagree with you guys the Bad News Bears, I’d probably give it a 6.0, it wasn’t in any way shape or form as good as School of Rock, but I still liked it.

  11. i’m loving the video editions!

but one little thing. I know this is details..BUT…could u maybe make the graphix so that they are inside the “tv-safe” zone…i’m probably not the only one who views the Video Edition on my tv. And some of the graphix like “John Campea” and the movie posters are also outside tv-safe

so yeah if you could make sure the graphix are 20% from the edge that would be great!

but other than that…these video editions are great!
